Jason's POV:
Turns out that Hades was pretty... chill. Well, not chill compared to Apollo of course, but still. He now stood in front of all three Gods- Light, Love, and The Dead. Wass he nevous? Of course, he was! He awkwardly stared up at Hades, glancing between the other two deities in the room.
"Uh, hello- your eminence?"
"Call me Hades, child." Hades turned away from Apollo and to Jason, eyeing the blond.
"Yes sir- ah- Hades..." Jason replied, stuffing his hands into his jacket pockets. Jason would glance around the dark throne room. 'How could Nico live here...?'
"Do you know why you are here, child?" Hades said coldly. He didn't seem to fully enjoy Jason's presence. At least he hadn't smitted him yet.
"No, Hades sir."
"Good. you mustn't know the prophecy until you are ready to embark on your quest."
"I still don't know why we're resurrecting him- we're pulling him from the Aterlife in Paradise." Apollo cut in, brushing off a flying ember off of his shirt.
"Because Apollo, Jason is prophesied to live. Thanatos himself has said Jason's presence in the Underworld feels wrong; as if he is still partially alive." Aphrodite replied.
"How do you know this, Aph's?" Apollo asked a perfectly arched eyebrow on his face.
"I was the one to retrieve him, of course, I would contact Thanatos to gain as much information on Jason before retrieving him."
"Okaaaay...?" The light god leaned against one of the many obsidian pillars lining the walls.
Jason watched the conversation between the two gods continue until Hades barked out a loud and cold "ENOUGH!". The tone of it made Jason flinch. He should have been used to loud noises and yelling- he grew up in the Wolf House after all. Hades turned to Apollo, his eye twitching ever so slightly. "Heal him before I change my mind about this quest and have my son retrieve her."
"...Heal me? Change your mind? Save who?-" Jason felt confused. What was Hades even talking about?
"Hush, Grace." Hades cut him off. Jason would glance at Apollo with a 'what-the-Hel-is-happening?' look painted across his face. Apollo would shrug, pushing up off the wall, clapping a tanned hand on his shoulder. Jason immediately felt like he could do anything- no tiredness, no pain. Apollo would lift his hand, standing off to the side now.
"What... did he just do?"
"I healed you- fully. You should now be able to cross through the Underworld without difficulty minus the ability to die." He pauses, a moment of uncertainty crossing Apollo's face. "Right, Hades?"
"Yes. Jason Grace now holds the ability of a alive demigod."
Jason would look down at his hands. He did feel warmer, more alive. Why were they even doing this? Who was this person he had to save? And a prophecy?
"I'm sorry- what's happening?" He cuts in.
"Ah, I'm sorry. We cannot tell you, my dear. This quest is for you to endure by yourself until you find your companion." Companion? What was happening? "Though we can guide you in the right direction," Aphrodite brushes a few flying embers off the satin fabric of her red dress. "You should get something to control the amount of embers in your palace, Hades. It's getting annoying."
"Well, Aphrodite, you are in the Underworld. I cannot control the flying embers the eternal fire produces." His eye twitches as he sighs, his eyes sliding back to Jason. "You are lucky to have this second chance, Jason Grace. Use it well."
"I still don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing," Jason responded awkwardly. Nico's dad was vague.
"Ah, we'll tell you later once our guest arrives." Hades said calmly, sitting on his throne. 'Oh cool, the guy has a giant throne in a giant palace with a giant pet dog and a bunch of dead people. Fun.' Jason thought to himself. A skeleton walks to Jason, pushing him along to another part of the Palace. "Enjoy your stay, Son of Jupiter."
