One afternoon, while Julian is out in town, a visitor arrives at their villa. It's a local fisherman, a grizzled old man with a weather-beaten face. He hands Romeo a note and leaves without saying a word. The note is short, written in Italian: "You can't run from who you are. We're watching."

Romeo's heart pounds as he reads the message. He realizes that their past has caught up to them faster than he anticipated. When Julian returns, Romeo reluctantly shows him the note. Julian's face pales, but he remains calm. They both know what this means—they have been found.

Despite their fear, they decide to stay. They refuse to be driven out of their new life by the ghosts of their past. They increase their security, installing cameras and setting up safe rooms. They also reach out to their trusted ally, Sofia, to find out who might have tracked them down.
