Cat got your tongue

"Mrow?" Blecker mewled as she stirred awake, surprised to find she was in some kind of basement,
various fossils, maps, and other archaeological bit and bobs around her.
As soon as she stirred though a young girl rushed over. She was pressed in colorful clothes, with short
hair and a bright smile and as Blecker mewled she waved over an older man, "Papa shes awake!"
Blecker pushed to her feet mewling in confusion just before the girl picked her up and started to pet her
gently, "Don't push yourself. You've been out for days and that battle scenes can't have been good four
your heath but don't worry Ui is here to nurse you back to heath!"
"Where am I?" Blecker finally spoke.
Ui and her father started and she nearly dropped her, "Y-You can talk!"
"Blecker purred and smiled, "Despite appearances I'm not actually a cat. This was a reflex my body did
from pushing it to hard, using too much energy."
Ui smiled even wider, "Dad we caught a criptid! We found a real one!"
Blecker jumped from her hands, but she couldn't stand very well, her stomach was roaring, "Can I get
some food, I'm famish, I'll explain everything."
The father was already moving, going to a cupboard and filling a bowl with canned food, and putting it at
Blecker feet, its was pretty clearly cat food as well by color and smell but Blecker didn't care as she dove
in.
"There's a litter box over there," the old man mentioned, "We got it after Ui brought you home."
Blecker just devoured the food and seeing her licking the bowl clean the father moved to his fridge and
got some random bits and tossed them into the bowl which Blecker tore apart.
"You've got a big appetite!" Ui says surprised.
"She has been out for days and isn't a normal cat," the father notes. "Remember that jacket we found her
in and the bag, those are the kind of things the Kyuurangers carry and their all very different kinds of
people."
Blecker purrs sitting on her haunches, "Speaking of which can I have them back."
"Then you'll tell us what you are?" Ui beamed as she moved to an out of sight table where Blecker caught
a glimpse of multiple bags but wasn't sure if they were all hers.
And as Ui helped her get her jacket back on and bag slung over Blecker purred as she started to stand,
proportions shifting to something more humanoid but still clearly feline as she stopped about about tw and
a half feet tall.
Blecker took a deep breath, "Annnd now I'm hungry again," she sighs, "you have any idea how much
energy it takes to more then double your height?"
"Maybe vitamins would be a better choice," the wise old man offered, "what exactly kind of nutrients
would you need?"
Blecker purred and licked his hand, "Not a bad thought but consider what im doing. Bones: that's calcium
and Vitamin D; Blood: B-3, Muscles: C, A, D, B-12, Omega 3, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, protein;
Skin: D, C, E, and K; Fur, Biotin/B7, Iron, C, D, and Zinc; and of course the energy to do all that: B-12,
D, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc, Creatine, Coenzyme, and Ashwagandha."
The man had at some point started taking notes, "Alright be right back, be much easier then you eating us
out of house and home. In the mean time tell Ui your story."
And he was gone, Blecker blinking, Ui smiling.
"Did that really just happen?"
Ui giggled picking up Blecker and sitting her on her lap as she got back to petting her, "So what are
you!?"
Blecker purred, "If that was the big question I had for years," she chuckled getting a raised brow fro m Ui,
"Long story short I'm half human, like you. But the other half, it's something called a Zyuuman, a race of
animal people that fled Earth hundreds of years ago. My mother and her parents however found a way
back, fleeing from persecution from their home because they were of two different tribes, bovine and
feline, and the felines at least considered it an affront against nature and tried to kill them. On Earth my
mother was born and eventually they met a group skilled in something call Symbol Power who taught
them how to suppress and hide their Zyuuman features as pass as humans. Eventually my mom met my
dad, and they had me and my brother and then..."
Blecker paused, old memories bringing up old wounds that she needed a moment to process, meanwhile
Ui was grinning ear to ear.
"I want to meet them all!" she rushed over to a table and took out a camcorder, "film them! Interview
them!"
Blecker sighed, "There all gone...I'm...alone."
Ui could see the devastated look on the feline and held her close, immediately forgetting her own
excitement and caring more about her friends clear loss."
"That was all on another Earth, a parallel reality...and it's gone now."
"The...whole planet?" Ui said softly petting Blecker, who cried and nodded.
"Everyone and everything."
Ui however was quickly to punt out a silver lining, "You survived!"
"I was off world, helping rangers from another reality. My Earth wasn't much different from this one, we
did not have space colonies."
Ui could feel the pain in Blecker's voice and held her close.
"Well we had one but no one I knew lived there...my family...friends..."
"What about the Zyuuman Land, that was a different Earth right, so they survived."
Blecker nodded, "They did, I've visited my bovine ancestors a few times since...the incident...but its not
the same. Imagine if you lost your dad and the only family you had left was your estranged auntie Mildred
you never even met before? Now imagine you find another Earth, even has people you recognize on
it...but the you they know, if there is even a counterpart, had a completly different life. One you had no
right to take over."
As Ui pets and hugs the sobbing Blecker the father came back, coat smoking, arms full of bags but clearly
looking like he dodged a war, "Sorry! Shopping a bit hard with those Jark Matter brutes paroling the
place. Thankfully their boss is still gone and its just the soldiers!"
As the father started unpacking bottles and mixing them in a blender with some fruit Blecker leaps from
Ui's arms, "There's still Jark Matter forces loose? I-I gotta go!"
She stopped as her stomach growled and Ui grabbed her, "What can you do?!"
Blecker rummaged in her back for the Wild Force Morpher, "I may not be a Kyuuranger, but I am a Power
Ranger, defending this Earth is my mission!"
"Can't fight on an empty stomach, just give the smoothie a moment to finish blending."
Blecker nodded but was clearly dancing impatiently in place as he handed the container to her and she
drank it down with both hands, not even pausing to breath as she increased her size until she was just
under five feet and then dropping to all fours bolted out the door, "I'll be back, but first I have mooks to
maul!"
The pair nodded as Blecker dashed off, Ui chasing after a moment.
"Sorry dad but you remember how I found her, someone's going to need to drag her back when she passes
out again!"
He nods, "Just keep your head low!"
