Annie reported, "Alright, we are ready."

Marty held up the camera, pointed the camera at Doc and he stated, "Hello, I'm Doctor Emmett Brown standing in Twin Pines Mall parking lot at 1:15 a.m. on October 26, 1985 and this is temporal experiment number one." That's when Doc ushered Einstein into the De Lorean. He grabbed up Einstein's clock and showed it to the camera. He added, "Please note that Einstein's clock is in precise synchronization with my control watch."

Marty got in close and replied, "Right, got it Doc."

The time had changed to 1:16 am on both clocks. Doc then closed the door for Einstein, went over to an empty spot of the parking lot, signaling for Marty and Annie to join him. The cousins do so. Doc had a control panel in his hand.

Annie started to ask, "Do you have that thing hooked up to the...?"

That's when the De Lorean roared to life, driving down the other way of the group. They were in front of the De Lorean and Einstein.

Doc told them, "If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 MPH, you are going to see some serious shit."

When Doc got the car up to 55, he let go of the remote and the De Lorean came right at the group. Annie and Marty were both ready to bail but just then, the De Lorean vanished into a flash of light. Two pairs of fire trails were below their feet. The license plate was the only left behind as it spun around and then fell to the ground. Doc smiled and started to jump up and down. Wait, why is Doc celebrating? He just desegregated Einstein!

Doc gloated, "Hahaha! What did I tell you?! 88 miles per hour! The temporal displacement occurred at exactly 1:20 a.m. and zero seconds!"

Annie picked up the license plate and dropped it because it was hot.

She blurted out, "Hot! Holy... Jesus Christ Doc! You desegregated Einstein!"

Doc shook his head and explained, "Calm down, you two. I didn't desegregate anything. The molecular structure of both Einstein and the car are completely intact!"

Marty blurted out, "Then, where the hell are they?"

Doc explained, "The proper question is when the hell they are? You see, Einstein has become the first time traveler! I sent him into the future! One minute into the future to be exact. And at 1:21 a.m. in 0 seconds, we will catch up with him and the time machine."

Annie and Marty exchanged surprised looks.

Marty asked, "Wait a minute Doc. Are you telling us that you built a time machine...out of a De Lorean?"

Doc nodded and responded, "I figured if you're going to make a time machine, why not do it with some style?"

Annie blurted out, "Style? You call a De Lorean style, Doc? We need to get your eyes checked."

Doc ignored her as he started to say, "Besides, the stainless steel construction made the flux dispersal..." That's when the watch went off he added, "Look out!"

He pushed the two of them to the side. Just when the De Lorean was going to appear, there was nothing. The wind started to pick up, as if it was sensing the doom.

Annie asked, "Uh...is that supposed to happen?"

Marty had to agree, something didn't seem quite right. "Doc?"

Doc was worried, "Hmmm. That's peculiar."

Annie questioned, "Uh...where is Einstein?"

Marty asked, "And the car?"

Doc frowned, "It should've caught up with us twenty-seven minutes ago. No need for concern. It's just probably a minor miscalibration of the time circuits."

Annie offered, "Maybe we should check your notes?"

Doc nodded in agreement as Marty went to fetch them from the tool box. He couldn't shake this feeling that something was not right. Marty grabbed it up and saw the drawing for the Flux Capacitor.

Mary perked up, "The Flux Capacitor?"

Doc replied, "That's it!"

Annie stated, "What the hell is the flux capacitor?"

Doc explained as Marty brought over the notebook, "It's my latest invention! The thing that makes time travel possible. In this notebook, I've detailed the nearly three decades of scientific breakthroughs necessary to build a working time machine." Doc was looking over the pages. He added, "If it ever fell into the wrong hands, the consequences could be catastrophic!"

As he was going over his notes, with Annie trying to help, Marty had to admit something.

Marty replied, "Doc, Annie. Something's way off here."

Annie asked, "What do you mean?"

Just as Marty was about to explain, the wind had brought in a huge thunderstorm. The thunder clapped as the lightning flashed. The Twin Pines Mall sign disappeared, transforming into the Lone Pine Mall.

Doc muttered, "Great Scott..."

Annie stated, "Doc?"

Marty asked, "What's wrong?"

Doc added, "I've made a horrible mistake..."

That's when the thunder clapped again, showing that Doc was fading out of existence. Annie gasped as Marty's face fell. Marty tried to reach out for him but his hand passed right on through.

Marty grunted, "No!"

Doc apologized, "I'm sorry..."

That's when Doc completely disappeared.

Marty cried out, "DOC! COME BACK! NO!"

...

"DOC!" Marty screamed as he woke up, safe and sound in his room.

Oh. Oh...it was another nightmare. Marty had been having them more frequently since they had returned from 1885. Doc had stayed behind with Clara Clayton, their sons, and of course Einstein. Both Marty and Annie had missed Doc fiercely. But neither of them knew if Doc would ever return to 1986.

"Marty? Is everything okay?" Lorraine asked in the hallway.

Marty answered after a minute, "Yeah mom... It was just a nightmare... I was in the past with Annie and Doc was there..."

As he started to say that, he looked at the picture from 1885. He was giving Annie a kiss on the lips as Doc just smiled at them.

Lorraine reassured, "Well, you are safe and sound...now back in good old 1986. But you better get up. Your father and Annie are waiting for you."

Marty did a double take, "Huh?"

Lorraine asked, "Weren't you supposed to meet them over at Doc's?"

Marty perked up, "Holy crap! I'm late!"

With that said, Marty got up from his bed, left his room, gave his mom a kiss on the cheek, and then headed out.

...

Wishmaker1028: Here we go again! Okay, in this AU, Marty and Annie are still dating. They aren't engaged yet. Doc and his family haven't moved to 1986 yet. Also when we get to 1931, there will be mentions of Estelle but we won't see her - at least not yet. I'm doing this for a reason. Anyways, please read and review! And always think outside of the box!
