Marie opened her eyes to see her cousin Callie cuffed to a chair as if she was about to be tortured. Without warning, the leader of the octarians, D.J octavio, floated into view. " Hello,agent 1. We've been expecting you. With you specifically, there will be no one to stop this plan." "w-what do you want with me?!" Callie exclaimed, more than likely terrified. Octavio smirked. "hah. Pathetic. You'll find out soon enough." An octarian scientist whispered something unintelligible into his ear. He nodded,and turned back to Callie. "Bring them out." He said to the scientist without looking at her.. She nodded and turned around. The scientist looked familiar to Marie,but she couldn't place it. She pulled,seemingly out of thin air, a pair of glasses. She slipped them onto Callie's face, and everything faded to black.
It hurt Marie's hearts to see her cousin like this.
Callie and marie's apartment
Marie woke up abruptly. She'd had a nightmare. This had been happening for a while now, two months in fact. She grabbed her phone off its charger and turned it on, phased by the light at first. She texted Ashley,aka agent 4,the only person who knew about said nightmares. Marie stepped out of bed,to awake now to sleep. She wandered into Callie's room, watching her from the doorway sleeping peacefully. It was comforting to know she was ok in real life,despite the last two months. Of all things Marie cherished, her relationship with her cousin was the most important to her.they'd done everything together. It was part of the reason Marie didn't tell Callie about the dreams she was having, for she didn't want her cousin to worry about her.
Marie's thoughts were interrupted until she heard a quiet yet audible knock at the door and went to answer it. Ashley was standing there. " Hey, mind if I come in?" Marie nodded "Sure." Ashley came in and sat down,and Marie closed the door. She sat down next to ashley. "So, I'm assuming you haven't told Callie yet?" Ashley said.
Marie sighed. " I don't know how I can, Ash. She's already been through so much because of me and I don't want to make everything worse by making her worry about me..." "Marie, how do you know she's not going through the same thing you are? The two of you could work through this together if you just tell her! It's easier than bottling it up, trust me." "But I have been bottling it up! For months!" "I'll tell you what, I'll take you out for coffee. My treat,to take your mind off it." She stood up. And Marie did the same."Sure." she said. " I'll go get dressed."
Callie slowly, sleepily opened her eyes. She'd been having worse,more complicated nightmares than her cousin, but didn't want to say anything because she just didn't know how to explain.
Her nightmares would always involve her being brainwashed against her will, and or hurting Marie. To tell the truth, Callie was afraid she'd do so. It felt as if she wasn't always in control after Octo-canyon. It felt like neither of them were the same after that (slightly traumatizing) experience. Things had been slightly awkward between them. The two had still hung out, but less frequently.
She stood up, and got out of bed. She walked into the living room. " Okay let's- oh hey cal!" Callie rubbed her eyes. " Morning, where are you guys headed?" she said, yawning. " we're going out for coffee,wanna come?" Ashley responded "sure." Callie went into her room to get dressed. Marie and Ashley sat back down on the couch. "... you need to tell Callie about your nightmares Marie. She's your best friend and your cousin. She deserves to know."
Marie hesitated. "Ok.. I'll tell her. I promise." Callie overheard this, slightly confused. Marie's been having nightmares too? She wondered to herself.
