~one our later~
When Callie and Marie returned home, Marie went straight to her room. She refused to even look her cousin in the eyes. She slammed the door and sighed. She sat on the window seat , thinking about what the fuck just happened in the last hour. Calllie never snapped like that, especially not at her. Marie heard a knock on her door, Callie's voice could be heard on the other side.
"...Marie? Please open the door. I-I didn't mean to yell at you...I'm sorry, just please let me explain."
Marie sighed. She stood up and opened the door.
She stood there in silence for a few moments before responding with "...come on in."
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________Callie and Marie were sitting in (admittedly awkward) silence on the same bench by the window Marie had been sitting on just minutes prior. Callie decided to be the first one to speak. She awkwardly cleared her throat. " Marie, I- I'm sorry for snapping at you. I didn't mean to, i just..." she sighed. " haven't been the same since octo-canyon... I ... don't know how to explain it, though..."
Marie stared at her cousin, confused. "... what do you mean?"
She hesitated for a second."... Because there's something I've never told you before. Something... hard to talk about." Marie immediately understood what her cousin had been going through. She'd been emotionally distant ever since she'd returned from being rescued from Octavio's clutches, and now she was finally opening up to her about what had happened.
But of course, this more than likely meant they would both get emotional. In a good way, of course(hopefully) but that was a risk Marie was willing to take. If Callie had something she needed to get off her chest, she could say it.
"What is it?"
Callie paused. " i-it's about what happened. Y'know... back in Octo canyon."
She drew a deep breath."I-I um..."
Marie gave a slightly concerned look. "Are you okay, cal?"
She touched her shoulder, and Callie flinched a little bit. " Is it that hard to talk about?"
" I'm not really sure I should tell you..."
she looked her cousin in the eye and said, "hey, you know you can tell me anything right? No rush, just take your time."
" well, I-I kind of..."
She took another deep breath and blurted out, " I went to the Octarians willingly!"It was quiet for a good few seconds.Marie just stared at her, eyes wide. "You WHAT?!"
Ok, so this chapter is VERY late, and apologies, i ran out of inspiration for like five minutes, but i am so excited to post this chapter. I have steadily watched the read count for this story grow and get it's first vote, and it makes my day. As for Callie and Marie, things are going to get worse before they get better for our favorite squiddy sisters sadly 😕 but the drama, the excitement, i can't contain it anymore! Anyway, i managed to cough up another chapter, and more will come in the future(maybe every other friday, or earlier than Friday if i can't wait for these chapters anymore) so, with that, stay fresh!🌈 leave a comment if you are enjoying this so far!💚🩷
