As the night stretched on, the main side of the restaurant began to empty out slowly. Music continued to play within the background, encouraging people to keep the living atmosphere going.
Levi was still occupied in the lounge area, caught in conversation with Pieck's group. Any time you glanced over, it became more apparent that he wasn't planning on making any moves to excuse himself.
Turning back to Hange, you offered her a smile. "How about another drink? Tonight's supposed to be about celebrating you, after all."
Hange clapped her hands together in delight. "I like the way you think. Okay, my last one's on you!"
Turning back to the bar, you waved Erwin over. He didn't say a word, only nodding and grabbing glasses to prepare Hange's drink.
"We got really lucky, you know," Hange murmured. She began to point a thumb over the Erwin, who was now using a shaker. "Our university doesn't get carded thanks to this guy."
You gulped nervously as Erwin began to set down Hange's drink, his eyes drifted back towards you.
He then proceeded to reach under the counter, opening what sounded to be a mini fridge. He then placed a bottle of water in front of you, standing tall as he collected his tools.
"Oh, I didn't order-"
"It's free."
Your brows creased upwards, looking back and forth between Hange and Erwin. What was he trying to get at? There was so much he must have known, so much he could have said, but he only stood there, continuing to clean the station without a word.
"You know," Hange said suddenly, forcing your attention back onto her. "I noticed some interesting scratches on the back of Levi's neck earlier. Any idea how those got there?"
Her eyes twinkled mischievously, and it took everything in you not to cough up a storm. "What? No, I don't know what you're talking about."
Hange laughed, sliding her drink closer in front of her on the counter. "Sure, sure."
Erwin continued to collect the empty cups, bringing them all to the other side of the bar. When he was finally out of hearing distance, you gave her a look, one that practically admitted defeat.
Seeing that, she began to lean forward, her elbow digging into the counter. She began to adjust her glasses, looking up at you with a knowing smirk.
"When I saw you two in the parking lot, it took everything in me not to scream with joy," she took a breath. Slouching slightly in her stool, she began to stir her straw around the rim of her drink. "So, are you guys together now?"
