"This is so stupid." Gavin groaned at his math homework.

"No, it's not. Just do it so you don't have to do it this weekend." Kate said.

Gavin and Kate have the same math class. They're taking AP Calculus. Gavin slammed his fists on the desk.

"I need help." He rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, you do." Kate smiled.

"No. I mean with this."

"Get a tutor?" Kate opened up a small bag of fruit snacks.

"Hell no. That's when you're really dumb."

Kate shrugged.

"If you are really struggling with this... you should get help, Gavin."

Gavin stayed silent.

"Alright... fine."

Kate smiled.

"I know who can help!"

"Great. Is it a blonde bimbo?" Gavin rolled his eyes.

"No, because blonde bimbos are bimbos. They're stupid and can't help stupid people."

"I'm not stupid!"

"Right.... my friend, Jaylee, can help you."

Gavin nodded.

"Doesn't she work at your mom's cafe?"

"Part-time. She's available before and after school."

"Okay... could you talk to her... or something?" Gavin asked.

"Don't you have a mouth?"

"Yes. Fine. I'll do it."

Kate smiled.

"Hey, Katie poo," Jaylee said all giddy as she walked towards Kate's locker.

"Why is Jaylee all happy?" Kate grinned.

"Oh, I don't know... maybe because Daniel passed his history test."

"Who's Daniel?"

Jaylee sighed.

"The kid I tutor..."

Kate looked confused.

"He's a junior..... jet black rugged hair..... plays basketball...."

"Oh... Daniel" Kate nodded like she knew who Jaylee was talking about.

"You still don't know, do you?" Jaylee folded her arms across her chest.

"Nada."

Kate closed her locker and turned towards Jaylee.

"So, what are you doing tonight?"

"Your mom wants me at the cafe." Jaylee said, popping her gum.

Kate frowned.

"You're not going?" Kate asked.

"Yes... I'm going. I just said your mom wants me at the cafe. Did you not hear me?"

Kate stopped Jaylee from walking and turned her towards Kate.

"Yes, I heard you.... I meant... I have a game tonight, and I really want you to be there."

Jaylee nodded.

"I-i don't know, Kate. The cafe is getting really b-"

"Please." Kate interrupted Jaylee with a pout.

Jaylee rolled her eyes.
