Happy Birthday Kookie!!!! 🥳🎂🎁🐰
(As it's 1st September in South Korea already)
This is my surprise gift for all readers of this story. I usually update once a week but I felt to do something special for you on the occasion of my baby brother's birthday (Yes, I consider Kookie as my baby brother 🥺 don't judge me please).
September is special to me for many reasons, so many surprises on your way 😬
Kindly note, this chapter is continuing with 2016 because I feel you need to know this before jumping to 2024. Please do not skip and read it. Sorry for writing such a long chapter but it is needed what I can feel.
This chapter isn't proofread, so pardon the mistakes and typos 🥹
Let's begin....
2016
The love sprouting inside the two hearts were influencing their daily lives now. Excuses of going out alone have been more frequent these days. Unpredictable actions of smiling idiotically in class have been regular. Poor boy even got caught in the act of lying while asked by his best friends to accompany them somewhere. Namjoon was making him feel more special with each passing day and Jungkook would be brewing over his feelings for Namjoon every now and then. They were deeply in love and immensely attached to each other.
Eun-woo got busier with Hoseok as he would be leaving for college in few months. Jimin has been worrying over Taehyung's poor grades and scolding the other to concentrate on studies. To recapitulate, everyone was too busy in their own worlds to pay attention to Jungkook's changes.
The only person witnessing all the silly romance was an extremely disgusted Hae-rin who didn't have the slightest empathy for her brother's boyfriend. Namjoon would often take his boyfriend to his house as his mother gas grown fond of the boy. Sometimes, she would even share tips on cooking and learn recipes of Jungkook's favourite dessert dishes. Their growing bond was another vital factor in raising Hae-rin's hate for him.
"Just a pinch of sea salt, eomoni." Jungkook warned in a panicked voice as Mrs Kim was about to put a spoonful of the savoury ingredient into a pot of pumpkin pie mix. She giggled at the boy's expressions and couldn't help but pull his nose affectionately. "You are too sweet, Kookie." Jungkook blushed rubbing his nose with a bunny smile as Namjoon was standing right outside of the kitchen door. He wasn't allowed inside by his own mother due to his very obvious lack of culinary skills.
"Yeah! If he's so sweet then why don't you put him inside the pie?" Hae-rin sounded annoyed.
"Look at him, Rin. The way he talks about the recipes feels so refreshing and unique. He will grow up to be an undoubtedly charming chef." Mrs. Kim claimed confidently patting on Jungkook's head. Hae-rin rolled her eyes with gritted teeth but decided to save her hateful words for later."It will take about three quarters of an hour for the microwave bell to ring. I will whip up some pasta meanwhile. You kids can leave now. Will be calling you soon." The woman shooed the kids away from kitchen as she wanted to make Jungkook's favourite pasta. She already convinced him to stay for lunch today. It was a blissful Saturday!

Mr. Kim requested his son to get a box of tool from the topmost shelf of store room. Namjoon asked his boyfriend to wait for him in his room. Hae-rin was keeping hawk-eyes on Jungkook making him feel uncomfortable.
"What's your problem with me, Hae-rin? I never said anything mean to you." Jungkook asked impatiently to know the exact reason of her cold attitude. She was taken aback by the question but answered with a straight face. "You want to know exactly why I hate, Jungkook? Fine, let me tell you from the start."
