The excruciating pain didn't let him step out of the apartment. It was almost the time of Christmas and the due date was arriving soon. Jungkook sipped on a cup of tea that Hae-rin prepared. She is spending her winter vacation at the apartment and sleeping on the couch for taking care of Jungkook. He has asked her several times to leave and not bear the burden but she considers him family now.

"Yeah mom, I'm eating well. Yesterday we went shopping and the fridge is stocked now. Anyway, I'll hang up now. My friends are waiting for me. Bye!" She has lied to her parents about spending vacation at a guest house in Seoul with her friends. While the phone conversation was going on, she noticed a horrific contortion in the face of Jungkook holding his huge belly.

"Oh god! Are you okay?" She hurried to his side but the boy kept crying without being able to speak up. No medical knowledge was necessary to realise the boy was in labour. She immediately dialled for the ambulance that arrived in no time.

"Just a little more, Kookie. Hold on there, everything's going to be fine." She kept massaging his feet in the ambulance on their way to the hospital. Although prepared for this day, she was hoping someone to be there by her side but that was out of the normal. She had to let that expectation pass and gear up for being the responsible aunt.

Jungkook was taken to the labour room. Hae-rin was not allowed inside and waited outside. She was too scared. Watching the boy wailing his eyes out was not something she assumed earlier as part of pregnancy.

She burst into tears being helpless to protect three boy in distress. While wiping off her tears, a woman, assumably a hospital non medical staff handed her a cup of water reassuring, "Is that your brother that they took inside? He will be fine, don't worry." Hae-rin nodded taking a bit of the water she was offered.

"Do you want to call someone from home? I see you alone here. You are too young to handle all this." The kindness of the lady touched her heart and her tears resumed streaming down. The woman got tensed and kept hand on her head. "God will send help for you and your brother. I know it." She left for her shift thereafter.

Passers by kept staring at her, some with worry, some with confusion. She didn't like the attention but her emotions were overflowing now. She wanted Jungkook to be fine but the way he was crying in pain, shook her to the core.

"Hae-rin!" An unfamiliar male voice called her out in surprise. She turned to find two people, totally unexpected.

"You are Hae-rin, right? Namjoon's sister?" One of them asked. She nodded in between the sobs. "Is there anything wrong? May we help you with something?"

The question made her run to the speaker and join her palms pleading, "Please stay here for some time. I don't know anyone here."

"Hey calm down. What's wrong? Are you sick?"
"No, I just-"

Her hiccups made the others more puzzled and worried, "Shall I call Namjoon?" Hae-rin promptly answered, "No please! Don't call him. He is not in the country anyway."

"Oh right! He was supposed to go- anyway, tell me what's wrong?"

From the arm sling, she deciphered the speaker to have injured his arm and visiting the hospital for treatment. The polite voice was soothing to hear but the girl was too cautious about Jungkook. With much internal struggles, she asked, "Can I trust both of you?"

"Of course you can." The other person now spoke up with a gentler tone than the previous one. Hae-rin was about to make an effort to utter a word when the labour room door got opened and a nurse came out asking, "Anyone from Jeon Jungkook's family?" She rushed raising her hand, "That's me!"
