I Can See You

Chapter 4

It's been probably 6 weeks since Travis' weekend at Taylor's place. Sadly things haven't been super easy with them lately, all the two of them wanted was just to be together and have a few moments alone, but Kayla seemed determined to make it as hard as possible. Tonight Pat has all the guys over to play GTA and of course, Kayla showed up just after Travis did and has been all over him all night. Taylor honestly feels like crying every time she looks at them, plus to top it all off she has been feeling awful this past week and has barely been able to keep any food down.

This is how she ended up here sitting in her bathroom, her hands shaking as she picked up the test from the counter. She takes a deep breath turning it over and starts to sob as she looks down at those two pink lines. What is she going to do? Is she going to have to do this alone? Does Travis even want kids? Will he be mad at her? She had a million different questions running through her mind and it was only making her sob harder.

She hears a knock on the bathroom door causing her to jump, Taylor tries her best to clear her throat and act like she hasn't been crying "Hang on, just a minute!" She calls out. "Tay, it's me Brit, are you okay? I thought I heard you crying in there" Brittany calls out to her through the door. Taylor sighs in relief and opens the door to let Brittany in, tears still falling silently down her cheeks. Brittany looks at Taylor, her face full of concern "What's wrong Tay?"

Taylor lets out another sob and holds out the test for Brittany to see "I-I'm pregnant" Taylor manages to hiccup out between sobs. "Oh Tay! It's going to be okay!" Brittany says pulling her into a hug. "I don't know what I'm going to do," Taylor says sadly. Brittany held her closer stroking her hair in hopes of helping her calm down a bit. "We'll figure this out I promise," Britney says and then after a few moments she asks "I know it's not really any of my business, but do you know who that father is?" Taylor looks up at her and nods her head meekly "It's Travis" Taylor admits. "Travis?! When did that happen? I mean I know you guys flirt, but I didn't think there was anything going on." She says sounding surprised. "It happened that weekend you and Pat went to see your parents. Travis stayed here so I wouldn't be alone, one thing led to another And well we had sex one night... Then twice the next morning and umm a few more times since then.

"How many is a few Tay?" She asked raising her eyebrow inquisitively. Taylor tries her best to avoid eye contact and quietly says "I'm not really sure..." "What?" Taylor sighs "I said I'm not really sure how many times...Pretty much whenever we can manage to get a moment alone." "So you guys have just been casually hooking up then?" Brittany asks. "I don't know... Don't really think so, it doesn't feel casual. I... I'm in love with him" Taylor admits, then looks down at the test in her hands "But a baby... this is going to complicate things so much. As if it wasn't complicated enough already.."

"What do you mean? how's it already complicated?" Brittany questions. "It's Kayla, she's a real fucking issue. She never leaves him alone she's just always clinging to him, she's there all the time showing up at his apartment, running into him in the dining hall and sitting next to him trying to insert herself into every conversation. We tried to go to the movies last week and she showed up. I think she has her phone set up to see his location it's the only thing that makes sense at this point." Taylor says sighing in frustration. "Jesus Christ she's such a psychopath," Brittany says shaking her head in disbelief.

Kayla thought she could hear what sounded like sobbing coming from the bathroom. So when she saw Brittany get up and head that way she knew she had to follow her and see exactly what was going on. Though Kayla was a sucker for some good gossip, the real reason she followed her is because nothing makes her happier than the thought that Taylor might be miserable. Hell if she was lucky maybe she is crying because Travis finally got his shit together and dropped her ass. So with a smug smirk, Kayla pressed her ear against the door to hear the conversation between the two girls. Hearing the words being said made her smile drop immediately. "Oh hell no," she says quietly to herself. Kayla is beyond furious at this point, she knows as soon as Travis finds out that Taylor is pregnant that there is no way she is going to win this. She has to come up with something fast before Taylor tells him. After a few minutes of contemplating the perfect plan comes to her, she just has to get to Travis first. So she heads off towards the living room in search of him.

Taylor finally manages to get herself together and after talking to Brittany for a bit she has decided that she has to tell Travis about the baby. So after a few deep calming breaths, she goes looking for him. When she finds him he is standing in the kitchen talking to Kayla. 'of course he is' she thinks rolling her eyes, but as she gets closer she can finally hear what's being said.

Travis had been doing his very best to avoid Kayla for the past 6 weeks, but just couldn't seem to shake her. She has been showing up everywhere and it has been driving him insane, especially since all he wants is to get some time alone with Taylor. He just wants a chance to tell her how he truly feels, to let her know that this isn't just a random hookup for him, that he is completely in love with her and she is all he wants forever. He knows they are young but there is no way he is going to fumble his dream girl, now he's had her he knows that he will never be happy with anyone else. So when Kayla comes up to him tonight and asks to talk to him alone he tries his best to blow her off.

"Travis can we talk for a minute...alone" Kayla says in what Travis assumes she thinks in a sexy pouty voice, but honestly to him it just sounds whiney and annoying. Travis lets out an exasperated sigh and says "Kayla, honestly I don't have time for your shit tonight" "But Travy it's really important, I swear" she whines. Travis rolls his eyes at her feeling pretty certain it was just another one of her lame excuses. "Kayla, we are done I've already told you this! So please stop making a damn fool of yourself and leave me alone" he tells her feeling the anger bubbling in his stomach. Kayla doesn't leave though instead she just looks at him with teary eyes and says "Please we really need to talk." "Fine, but if this is more of your shit I swear to god I'm getting a damn restraining order," Travis says with a sigh following to the kitchen.

Once they got out to the kitchen Travis crossed his arms and looked at Kayla with a bored look. "Well you wanted to talk, so talk," he says. Kayla looks up at him takes an exaggerated breath and says "Travis, I'm pregnant."

Also I'll try my best to get the next chapter out soon, my 2 older kids start school again on Wednesday so hopefully that will give me a little more time to write!
