Travis stood there for a moment, completely stunned, frozen in place. "What?.... you're pregnant?" He said in utter disbelief. Taylor just looked down doing her best not to make eye contact with him. "Yes...about 6 weeks," she told him in a small shaky voice. Suddenly, Taylor felt herself getting pulled into a pair of strong arms. "Oh kitten!... I can't believe it, god I love you so much!" Travis sobbed in disbelief. 20 minutes ago, he had thought he lost her forever, and he not only had the love of his life back, but a baby too...their baby, just like it was supposed to be. Travis drops to his knees, lifting Taylor's shirt, causing her to giggle as he gently kisses her still-flat belly and, in a soft voice, says. "Hi, little one, I'm your daddy. I know you are still just a little bean, but I already love you so much! You are going to be the luckiest baby ever, because you, my darling, have the best person in the whole world as a momma. I already can't wait to meet you."
Tears flowed down Taylor's cheeks at Travis' sweet words; her heart felt like it was going to explode due to the sheer love she had for this big, silly man in front of her. "I love you too; you are going to be the best daddy, Travi,s," Taylor says as he stands and pulls her into another sweet kiss. Unfortunately, their little bubble of happiness burst at the sound of Travis's phone ringing. He looks down at it and his face drops when he sees who is calling... Kayla, of course, it was. He doesn't pick up but he can tell by the look on Taylor's face that she knows exactly who it is as well.
"That was her wasn't it?" Taylor asked her face now looking very solemn. "Yeah, it was..." Travis sighs. "What...what are you going to do about...well this whole situation?" Taylor asks hesitantly. "actually, that's what I came here for." He states simply. Taylor looks at him, confused. "What do you mean?"
"I had no idea you were going to be here; I came here to talk to Kylie, actually." He tells her. Hearing her name Kylie pops back into the kitchen from the other room. "Not that I was listening but... Did you need something from me?" Kylie asks trying to sound nonchalant. Taylor can't help but roll her eyes at Kylie; of course, she was eavesdropping. Travis lets out a little chuckle and says, "Yeah, actually, I came here to talk to you about...well, the whole Kayla situation," he tells her. She gives him a confused look and says, "Me? why?"
"Well, to be honest, I feel like some things that Kayla has been saying just don't add u,p, and I think I think she's lying to me. I'm not sure in what way exactly but I need to find out." Travis tells her. "Okay, so what has she been saying?" Kylie asks obviously interested.
"Well, she says that she's supposedly more than 3 months pregnant because it's the only way that it would make any sense because we hadn't had sex in at least 3 months, 6 weeks before me and Taylor ever hooked up. Not only that but the day that she told me that she was pregnant, she messaged my mom and asked to go out to meet her for coffee the next day. I know it's not necessarily weird but what she told Mom was." He says. "Why did she tell your mom?" Kylie asks him. "She told Mom that her parents were going to disown her if they found out she was having a baby and she wasn't married. Also How she was super distraught about everything and just doesn't know what to do."
"What? That doesn't make any sense! First of all, her dad isn't even in the picture, and second, her mom is a huge hoe. Why would she care about her not being married and having a baby?" Kylie questions. "Exactly! That's what I was thinking. It just doesn't make any sense...which is why I need your help" Travis exclaims.
"Okay, what exactly do you need me to do?" She asks. "As far as I am concerned I want nothing to do with her, so I need to prove that she is lying about the baby." He pauses for a moment and pulls Taylor close. Then he continues, "I just want to be able to move on with my life, so that Taylor and I can raise our family in peace... The only problem is I don't think she is going to give up on pushing this whole wedding narrative; I mean, she is trying to guilt trip my mom into trying to convince me to marry her. So I think we need to find some way to catch her in the lie, but there is no way she is going to let her guard down enough to let anything slip with me...you however, may just be far enough removed from the whole situation that you might get something out of her."
"You know, I think you might be right, actually; she loves to brag about shit at practice or, well, anytime... You know I actually think the best way to do this might be to have you propose to her." Kylie says thoughtfully. "What! Propose! Have you lost your mind?!" Travis exclaims. "No, Trav, think about it! If you propose, then there is no way she isn't going to brag about it at our next team meet-up!" Kylie enthuses.
"Okay I get that she would brag about the ring and stuff, but how is that going to help?" He asks. "No, you don't get it; if she is lying, then there is no way that she's not going to be bragging about the fact that she is tricking you into marrying her!" She tells him."Do you think she is dumb enough to do that?" Travis questions. "I think that she is cocky and vain enough, that she is going to think that tricking you into marriage is the ultimate accomplishment." She tells him. "You have a point, that honestly does seem like the kind of shit she would be proud of." He agrees, then he sighs and says, "Well, it looks like I'm getting engaged."
"Yeah...looks like it..." Taylor says sadly pulling away from Travis, then pretends to be looking at something on her phone as she blinks away tears. Travis notices the tears right away and places two fingers under her chin, lifting her head so their eyes meet, and says. "oh, Kitten, it will only be for the sake of catching this lie; I absolutely do not want to actually marry Kayla." Taylor knows he is telling her the truth, but still, she can't stop the tears from falling. "I know that you don't, Travis and I know that I'm being dumb, but it kinda hurts to know that she is going to get the whole proposal thing..." She tells him not quite meeting his eye.
Travis feels his heart break a little at her words, god he really hates this; he wants Taylor to be the first and only person he ever proposes to. That's when he makes a rash decision. Travis grabs Taylor's hand and says, "Taylor, I know this seems crazy, and I hate this whole thing too. You are the only one I ever wanted to propose to, but since it seems like I don't get that option, So I'm going to make sure I get to do this first." Taylor looks at him, eyes wide with shock as Travis gets down on one knee. "Kitten, I honestly think I've been in love with you since the first moment I saw you; you are the smartest, funniest and most beautiful woman that I have ever met. I know that this isn't the most romantic proposal and that I don't have a ring yet, but I promise once all of this is over I'll buy you any damn ring your heart desires...so I guess what I'm really trying to say here is, Taylor Alison Swift, will you Marry me?"
