Ellie's pov

I was walking home from school with my friend Sulli, we are bestfriends and have been since the day we met, which was almost 10 years ago.

We are 18 years old and have known each other since we were 8 years old.

It was amazing to have my best friends house Sulli's house two houses down from mine.

"Bye Sulli" I said hugging her

"Bye Ellie" she said walking into her house.

Tomorrow is my 18th birthday and I couldn't be more excited.

I walked into my house but something seem off.

"Mum, dad I'm home" I shouted taking my shoes off and putting my bag on the kitchen bench.

"Hi honey we're in the kitchen" they replied.

When I walked into the kitchen they were talking about something. Mum smiled which it was clearly a fake smile I know my mum better than anyone.

"We need to talk to you" they said.

"I somehow knew you were going to say that" I said frowning. "Is everything okay?"

"Okay so this is going to be a sensitive topic, and I think you're mature enough to finally know" My mum said with a worried tone.

"So when you were 4 years old you were handed to us, by your r-real parents" Mum said stuttering.

"They were in a lot of trouble so we offered to look after you" dad continued "we hired people to watch over you since... well those people who killed your real parents are after you"

"W-what" I cried in horror. "So for 14 years you guys have been keeping a secret from me? 14 years!" I said raising my voice

"What did I do to deserve this? Who are these people that watch over me?" I asked.

"There are 12 of them, they are teenage boys the same age as you. They go to your school" My so called mother said in tears.

"Wait are they the boys that I see every morning walking behind me and Sulli and always see after my classes and at recess and lunch?" I questioned.

"Yes" My father answered.

"I just want you to know that we were told that we had to tell you this 1 day before your birthday, we were told by your parents." My mum said.

"And that we love you and we think of you like our own child" after my dad said that I ran to my room.

I called Sulli and told her everything she was just as shocked as I was, she couldn't believe that they could've lied to me for this many years.

The next day

It was my birthday Sulli wished me a happy birthday and brought me a really beautiful necklace with contained my favourite Jewel.

I was so thankful to have someone like Sulli in my life by my side.

At recess I was with Sulli. I saw the 12 boys and they were watching me.

"Are they the body guards?" Sulli asked.

"Yes" I replied plainly. Not giving them a slight bit of my attention.

"Wow they are hot" she said, practically drooling while she was looking them all up and down.

"Whatever" I said while walking up to them, they looked worried since I have never gone near them. Not that I needed to, I mean I didn't even know I had body guards.

"You can stop watching over me now, I know the truth and you can stop protecting me" I said, standing in front of them with my arms crossed. They were all looking at each other probably trying to figure out which one should talk to me.

"That's our orders, we have to always watch over you, until we graduate, and happy birthday Ellie" a tall boy said.

They all wished me a happy birthday

"But for how long have you guys been watching over me for?"

"Since year 7" Sehun said with the biggest smile.

I feel bad all of you, you have been watching over me all these years and haven't had time to yourselves" I said

"But we have after school we hang out but we just watch you during school, like your our little sister" Baekhyun said

Little sister... I think I like the sound of that.
