A sudden chill ran down his spine. The air, which had been cool but bearable moments ago, became icy, wrapping around him like a cold blanket. He paused, frowning as he felt a presence - something or someone behind him. His breath hitched, and he turned slowly, his heart pounding in his chest.

Standing just a few feet away was a figure, faintly glowing in the dim light. Jungkook's breath caught in his throat as he took in the sight of the ethereal being before him. It was a young man, translucent and shimmering in the moonlight. His features were delicate, almost angelic, with soft, round cheeks and a slight frame. He had large, doe-like eyes that seemed to shimmer with a mix of curiosity and sadness.

Jungkook's mind raced as he tried to make sense of what he was seeing. This couldn't be real - it had to be a trick of the light, a figment of his imagination. But as he blinked, the figure remained, staring back at him with wide, innocent eyes.

"Uh... w-who... what...?" Jungkook stammered, taking a hesitant step back. His hands trembled slightly as he tried to make sense of the situation.

The ghostly figure blinked, his expression softening as he took a small step forward, his movements delicate, almost shy. "I... I didn't mean to scare you," the ghost said in a soft, almost whisper-like voice. He looked down at his hands, which were clasped together nervously in front of him. "I'm Seokjin," he added, his voice trembling slightly as if he wasn't quite sure of himself.

Jungkook stared at him, his mouth opening and closing as he struggled to find words. "S-Seokjin?" he finally managed to say, his voice shaky. "You're... a ghost?"

Seokjin nodded, his ethereal form shimmering slightly as he moved. "I think so... I've been here for a long time," he said softly, his gaze dropping to the ground as a hint of sadness flickered in his eyes. "I don't really remember much... just that I'm supposed to be here," he continued, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jungkook's mind was reeling. He had heard the stories, the legends about the ghost haunting the countryside, but he had never truly believed them. And now, here he was, standing face to face with the very ghost those tales spoke of.

"You're not... going to hurt me, are you?" Jungkook asked, his voice laced with panic, though he tried to keep it steady. His body was tense, ready to bolt at any moment.

Seokjin's eyes widened, and he shook his head quickly, his expression almost alarmed at the idea. "No! No, I would never," he said earnestly, his voice filled with sincerity. "I... I don't want to hurt anyone. I just... I was drawn to you," he explained, his gaze lifting to meet Jungkook's. "You're warm... and I felt... safe," he added shyly, his cheeks tinged with a faint blush, though how that was possible for a ghost, Jungkook had no idea.

Jungkook's panic softened slightly at Seokjin's words, his fear slowly giving way to confusion and intrigue. There was something about Seokjin's gentle demeanor, the way he looked at Jungkook with such innocent eyes, that made it hard to stay afraid. Still, the situation was far from normal, and Jungkook couldn't help but feel out of his depth.

"Okay... okay," Jungkook said, trying to calm himself down as he took a deep breath. "So... you're not here to haunt me or anything? You're just... here?" he asked, his voice still tinged with disbelief.

Seokjin nodded, his lips curving into a small, shy smile. "I guess so," he replied softly. "I just... didn't want to be alone anymore," he admitted, his voice so quiet it almost broke Jungkook's heart.

Jungkook swallowed, the weight of Seokjin's words sinking in. This wasn't just a ghost—this was someone who had been lost and alone for who knew how long. The sadness in Seokjin's eyes was almost palpable, and despite his lingering fear, Jungkook felt a strange pull toward him, a desire to understand and, perhaps, to help.
