Jay:
I have a really bad feeling about right now.
Nya's probably listening from the other side of the door. Or she's playing with Sunny.
"What would you like to talk about? The weather's pretty sweet. Or maybe you'd like to talk about what Nya's been up to all day? Or -" He cuts me off.
"I'd like to talk about -" He gets cut off by the door swinging open.
Just then, the same redhead from last night barges in.
"Kai? How are you holding up?" She plops herself down on the couch.
"Nya came back a few minutes ago. Jay and I were going to have a talk about what she's been doing all day."
That was not what Kai was going to say, but he gave me a look that told me if I wanted to see another day, I'd better go along with it.
"Yeah, so she spent the night in a tent in my backyard, then she wanted to get pancakes so she woke me up and we took your car. Again, sorry about that. She wanted to go to the beach, and we both ended up getting soaked, so she bought us a change of clothes with your money. Sorry again. Then we went to the park a bit," we kissed, it was wonderful, "then we checked out Megamonster Amusement Park and came back here."
He nodded. "You owe me fifty bucks."
"What? Why?"
"Pancakes. Clothes. Tickets. Stealing my sister."
"Uhm, yeah, anyways, I'm going to go now while I can. It was nice to meet you!" I'm pretty much running out the door.
At first, I had no clue where I should go. But I still need to know what Cole did to Nya. Also, maybe he could give me a ride home since I don't have one and I forgot my phone at my house.
Cole:
I just got off the phone with my dad, who apparently is going to be spending the night at a buddies place to work on a song.
Then the doorbell rang.
I got up, taking my time, and I opened the door.
"Oh, hey. What's up?"
"We need to talk." Jay's voice is serious. Nya didn't tell him, did she?
No, that's impossible. She wouldn't.
"You always feel the need to talk. What is it this time?"
"How do you know Nya?"
"Nya? Jay, relax, we were friends last year, then we had a fight. You don't need to get jealous. There was nothing between us."
"Don't lie to me. Nya told me you two dated, but she wouldn't say anything else. Spill."
I sigh. "She did, huh? Well, last year, I hung out with jerks. I thought they were cool, and I wanted them to think I was cool, too. I did something really dumb."
"And that was?"
"I became friends with Nya because she wasn't friends with very many people, and I eventually asked her out."
He frowned. "Why was that dumb?"
"Because I didn't like Nya that way. I thought it was funny, and I would talk about her to my friends, and they'd crack jokes, and we'd all laugh together. I didn't realize it was wrong at the time. I was an idiot."
"Cole! Why would you do that? Let me guess, she found out?" He looks upset. I should've expected that, though.
"Not exactly. Promise you won't hate me if I tell you?"
