Nya:

I woke up on the couch, with a blanket that I don't remember having before.

Someone must have put it over me and shut off the TV when I dozed off last night.

I swing my legs off the couch, but before I stand up I realize there is a person at my feet.

Jay. Why isn't Jay at the hospital? He was supposed to get discharged today, not last night.

Wait, why is he here?

A glance at my watch tells me that I'm late for school. Oh well.

Jay stirs on the floor as I carefully step over him on my way to the kitchen.

Does Jay like cereal? I don't feel like making anything special.

Because I have no way of knowing when Jay will wake up, I leave out the box of Cheerios after I finish making myself a bowl.

Since my phone is still missing, I sit at the counter staring at a wall.

Things to ask Jay when he wakes up. Where the hell did he go? Or the reason he wasn't in the hospital? Does he know where my phone is? How did he remember Kai but not me?

And where are Ed and Edna in all of this?

Normally, because I don't have my phone and I probably have work to catch up on in school, I'd go. But that's a future me problem.

Present me's problems involve the cute brunette unconscious in my living room.

While I wait for him to wake up, I grab a few worksheets I got from three of my classes.

About thirty minutes later I finished my sheets, and I'm still bored.

How long is he going to be asleep?

"Jay? You should wake up." I say, walking over to the living room.

I kneel beside him, all cozy wrapped up in blankets.

Is he in a coma again? Who sleeps past 12 am?

My hands shake him, trying to pull him out of his sleep. "Wake up."

Nothing.

I lean down, lowering my lips to his ear. "If you don't wake up right now, I'm buying a pet tarantula and setting it on your face."

Nothing.

Just how deep does he sleep?

"Jay, wake up now or forever rest in peace," I say, rising to my feet.

He doesn't stir.

That's it.

I exit the living room for a few seconds before coming back with a glass of water in hand.

"Three, two," I pour the water on his face, "one."

He jolts awake. "What was that?" He shouts. "Nobody goes before you hit one! It's an unspoken rule!"

I shrug. "I used the element of surprise. There's towels in the bathroom," I point down the hall, helping him to his feet.

Jay:

Once dry, Nya had me sit across from her at the counter.

To say the least, it was uncomfortable to be the object of her glare.

I laugh nervously. She doesn't budge.

It's becoming more apparent to me why she was my girlfriend.

"So..." I try to prompt her.
