6 ~ New Change

TW: Mention of sexual assault

Cressida was told to rest for a few weeks for her ribs to heal, and Nick told her to stay in the medjack hut so Jeff and Clint can keep eyes on her and will always stay at her sides at all the time. She planned to rest after she joined the boys at the door, where she would witness the boys who injured her about to be banished. She needed to see this to see them suffer the way they suffered her, Newt wouldn't blame her for wanting to see this, and he would have done the same if he was in her position but at the same time, he want her to rest and not to move at all but he understood where she was coming from, justice. As soon as Minho and Ben returned and learned what just happened recently and Minho nearly about to kill those boys who dared hurt the only female glader in the Glade. Even though Minho and Cressida aren't that close but they grow to liking each other and become good friends. He is protective of her just like Newt, Nick, Alby, and Jeff were but Newt the most.

Newt stayed by Cressida side further in the back where the rest of the boys were in the front, Cressida didn't want to be in front or go near those sick boys who hurt her so she want to stayed in the back where she feel lots safer and Newt didn't want to leave her side so he stick with her as well as Jeff too on her left while Newt on her right. They watched as Billy and Victor dragged the dark-haired boy who tried to fight to get free, who Cressida learn named Henry. Then Gally and some guy from baggers dragged the redhead boy named Ozzie. Lastly, Alby and Minho dragged the brunette boy named Norman towards the door. They went past Cressida, but as soon as they saw her, they glared, making her grab Newt's hand, who wrapped his left arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer and spoke reassure words in her right ear which calmed her down a bit but he also surprised himself that she didn't scream or push him away after he did that and he knew that she trusted him the most than others. The three watched and listened as Nick spoke speeches and charged the sick boys for banishment, which the rest of the boys grabbed their own large pole with collar and shoved Henry, Ozzie, and Norman into the maze as they listened to their protests and sorrys until the door was begin to close with a loud of rumble heard in the distance meaning the maze was changing. They waited until they were out of their sights from the moment the door completely shut. The gladers put away their poles by the door and were ready to go for dinner as it is getting late...

"Wait!" Everyone turned to look at Nick, "I need to revise rules." He says, "Alby and I agreed after what happened today as you know Cressida was recently sexual assaulted, and we need to add new rules. If you don't follow and of course there will be banishment." Nick explained while looking at Cressida, who looked down, probably feeling guilt that things had to change because of her. Newt took her hand as she looked up at him.

"It's not your fault." He whispered.

"The rules you heard before will always stay the same. We don't know if they're going to send up more girls in the Glade, so this is a very important rule that you must and always follow this." Nick says firmly as he looks around, looking at every gladers that gathered around with him in the centre, "New rule, don't ever touch or go near Cressida and other girls if they send up girls, without their consents, understood?!" Nick shouted enough for everyone to hear, and there were so many of agreements and understood. Cressida was so relieved to hear that, and knowing that she would be safe for now, "Alright, time for dinner!" Nick ordered them as the gladers went away ready for dinner, then Nick came up to Jeff, Cressida, and Newt.

"T-thank you." Cressida thanked him.

Nick smiled softly, "It is alright. It was so wrong of them to do that to you. I need to make sure everyone is on the same page about this new rule for your and girls' safety." He said.

Cressida nodded in understanding, "Are you sure they're not... mad about the new rule? I just felt guilty." She looked down sadly.

"What the shuck... Cressida don't ever think like that. It is not your fault. It was them who put us in here. They did this. They did this to you." Nick said firmly. He was itching and wanted to hold her in his arms to reassure her every time and that this would never be her fault, never in millions... but he knew this was too soon for her as she was sexual assaulted about a few hours ago, and she may not want to be in touch right now and sooner.
