SurpriseThe office buzzed with its usual Friday energy, a mix of last-minute flurry and palpable relief as the workweek came to an end. Today was especially exciting—Jim Halpert's birthday—and Marceline had been secretly planning a surprise party for him. The challenge was getting Jim to her apartment without any hint of the surprise.
As 5 PM approached, Marceline made her way to Jim's desk, her heart racing with anticipation. She had spent the week meticulously planning every detail to make the evening special.
"Hey, Jim," Marceline said, trying to sound casual despite her nerves. "I'm having a few friends over tonight to help me settle into my new place. I'd really like it if you could come by around 7 PM."
Jim looked up from his computer, intrigued. "Oh, that sounds nice. I didn't realize you were having a gathering."
"Yeah, it's just a casual thing," Marceline continued, her voice light. "I'd love for you to come by and hang out for a bit."
"Sounds good," Jim replied with a nod. "I'll be there."
Marceline felt a wave of relief as Jim packed up his things, completely unaware of the special plans for his evening.
With the office gradually emptying, Marceline and Pam set off to her apartment. Pam had agreed to help with the preparations, and the two friends quickly got to work, setting up for the party.
Michael Scott arrived early, his enthusiasm unmistakable. He carried a large bag filled with party supplies and decorations.
"Alright, everyone, the party is on!" Michael declared, setting down his bag with a flourish. "I've got the best party gear to make tonight unforgettable!"
Pam glanced at the clock. "Jim will be here in less than an hour. Let's make sure everything is ready."
Dwight Schrute arrived next, carrying a stack of trivia cards and wearing a serious expression.
"I've prepared a challenging trivia contest," Dwight said with a smug smile. "We'll see who knows Jim the best."
Pam raised an eyebrow, amusement in her voice. "Dwight, let's save the trivia for later. We don't want to overwhelm Jim."
Dwight agreed reluctantly. "Fine. But expect a fierce competition later."
Stanley Hudson and Kevin Malone arrived, each bringing their own contributions. Stanley headed for the snacks, while Kevin set up his famous nacho mountain.
"I hope you've got plenty of pretzels," Stanley said, grabbing snacks from the table.
Kevin grinned as he worked on the nachos. "These nachos are going to be the highlight of the night. You'll see!"
Angela Martin arrived shortly after, arranging seating and decorations with meticulous care.
"We need everything to be perfect," Angela said, adjusting a chair. "Jim deserves a memorable celebration."
Meredith Palmer came in next, already in a festive mood, her drink in hand.
"Let's get this party started!" Meredith exclaimed, her energy infectious.
Oscar Martinez and Phyllis Vance followed, assisting with the final touches on decorations.
"The place looks fantastic," Phyllis said, admiring the setup. "Great job."
Oscar nodded. "It's shaping up to be a great night. I'm excited for the trivia."
Kelly Kapoor arrived last, bringing a carefully curated playlist of upbeat songs.
