My name is Annelizabeth, and I am in high school now. I am currently writing this story while they are giving a presentation on Financial aid, but I have heard it a million times before, so it doesn’t really matter. So what happened was that I was walking with my mobility teacher, Stephanie Cleary, and we were going to Dutch Bros, we were traveling down H street until I got a phone call. “Hmm…It’s weird that people call me. Nobody ever calls me.” I said and I picked up the phone. “Hello?” I said as I continued my journey with a white cane on my right hand and my phone in my left hand. “Is this Annelizabeth?” Asked a male voice, I was honestly surprised and slightly scared. “Yes, but who is calling?” I asked and what he told me was mind blowing, so bewildering that i considered it to be a scam. “Song Joong Ki, nice to meet you, Annelizabeth.” He said, “How do I know you are not lying?” I asked and he provided me with the necessary evidence. “So, why are you calling me?” I asked with a curious tone as I crossed the street at a light. “Because I kind of need your help.” He said, I didn’t know if I could believe him because why would he need my help. “Why on earth would you need MY help? I am just a high school student, not an experienced worker.” I asked and he sounded very desperate with what he followed up with.
“Please, I need your help, someone told me you are the best writer in the world. I need your skills.” He said and was starting to be exceedingly confused. I got close to the coffee shop window. “I need you to write a Korean drama script.” He insisted, I want to believe him, but I don’t even know him. “I will think about it, but I cannot move to Seoul.” I said and he gave me very useful information. “You do not have to, I will come to California.” He said and I told him I would do it and I hung up. “Can I have the sweater weather chai?” I ordered and while we waited, I talked to Stephanie and told her everything. “That was Song Joong Ki, from the Korean drama ‘Descendants of the sun’ and he wanted me to write a Korean show for him.” I said and my drink was ready and as I walked, and I continued to tell her. “And the best part is, he is coming to California for me!” I said and we got on the bus. We continued our talk as we paid and waited for our stop. “That’s great, Annelizabeth!” She said, I could not wait to tell my mom and sister about my experience. I got home and was super excited to share every detail with them, but I had to wait for my dad to get home. “I have something I need to tell you, but I have to wait until dad gets home.” I said and my mom and sister look at me bewilderingly and a little upset that they didn’t get to hear the news. “Okay, we will wait.” They said, I did some homework and listened to some music. When I was wrapping up my homework, my dad came, and I sat him down to talk.
“Dad, I have something to tell all of you.” I said and everyone sat down to hear the big news. “When I was on the walk with Stephanie, I got a call.” I said and everyone looked at me with a disappointed look on their faces. “That’s your news?” Dad said wanting to watch TV but I took the remote away from him. “No, an actor named Song Joong Ki called me and he wanted me to write a Korean drama. I told him I would, but I was certainly not moving to Korea, and he said he would come to California for me!” I said and everybody screamed and hugged me because they were so happy to hear the news. “That’s wonderful, Annelizabeth!” My sister said and I hugged her.
“This deserves a celebration!” Said my mom. We had a movie night and I was so happy. It has been three months since the first time I watched Descendants of the Sun, I still remember it like it was yesterday. I sighed as I ate my pumpkin tteokbokki I prepared, and my dad looks at me worriedly. “Do you not like it?” He said, I get out of my trance and I told him that I loved it. “Why did you sigh like that?” He asked again, and I told him everything about how nostalgic I was about still mourning the end of ‘Descendants of the Sun.’ but I know the most beautiful things always have to come to an end. “You’re living in the past, it’s your 10th week of school and you’re barely living in the first day of school, honey.” He said and I remembered the first day, the fact that we didn’t have a car, and that after I got home I watched ‘Descendants of the Sun’ almost as though it was a ritual. “Dad’s right, remember last year when you dwelled on my room because you watched ‘Hotel Del Luna’ that summer?” Asked my sister, how did she even know that I desired to enter her room with such detailed thoughts. I never said anything about it.
