Elle came home from her mom's today. She instantly hugged me tightly, which is unusual, since she's not all that big on hugging me unless I've been gone for weeks.

"Hey, hon. What's up?" I quietly asked her as I just hugged her back.

"I love you, dad." She told me. My heart may have melted. This is my girl!!

"Stop, you're gonna make me cry." I laughed a bit, "I love you even more." I told her.

"My friend at school died, dad." She quietly said before she began to break down in my arms. What? My heart literally shattered. I quickly had her sit down on the couch and I just showered her with hugs and kisses as she began to quietly sob.

"I wish Jared was here." She sobbed.

"I'm so sorry, hon." I told her, basically fighting back my tears. After a while, she just went into her room, and just stayed in there. I instantly called Brooke.

"Elle's friend died?" I asked her.

"Yeah. It was a drunk driving incident. The family didn't want the news to say anything about what specifically happened so the news just said a person was hit and car drove away instead of stopping to help." Brooke explained.

"Jesus fuck. This happened this morning?" I asked. She said it did, and UGH Jesus Christ. I feel so bad for my little girl. And I feel horrible for her friends family. I could never imagine my child dying. Never. It hurts just thinking about it. I instantly called Mitsu and asked if she could take Jun for the day, mainly because I remember how I felt when my mom died. I just wanted to be alone back then, and I'm giving her that. I went upstairs to grab Jun, and he got super excited to go with his grandma, and he ran to his room to pack. I went into my room to grab Rowan and wake her up from her nap, but she wasn't there. I may have panicked a bit, but then I heard giggling in Elle's room. I cautiously knocked on her door.

"Hon? Do you have Ro?" I asked.

"Yeah." She replied. I opened the door and she was just hugging onto Rowan. She loves her little sister, it makes me so happy.

"I love you guys. You can keep her in here with you if you want. I was gonna take her to Mitsu's." I told her.

"Why didn't we have a birthday party for her? Back in April?" Elle asked me.

"I mean, she's not gonna remember it. We had a little cake with her though and she got some gifts, don't you remember?" I asked Elle. She was wiping away tears this whole time.

"Oh, right. I can't believe I have a BEAUTIFUL one year old sister!" She exclaimed as she just hugged onto Rowan again.

"Sissy!!" Rowan giggled. I left after that and brought Jun with me. And yes, I did go in to visit.

"Grandma!" Junji yelled as he literally jumped onto her.

"I'm glad you came in! I made lunch!" She said as she hugged Jun, "I convinced Farid to bring over the twins, so they'll be here too, but not for another hour."

"Sheesh, is Paris holding in that baby or what?" I asked. Mitsu just laughed a she start to kiss Junji's face.

"Ah! I need to ask Harry to bring over his babies too!" She giggled as she pulled out her phone.

"Damn! You want to be over loaded, don't you?" I laughed.

"I love my grand babies!" She replied. Her and I sat down to have lunch, and since Junji is a 7 year old, he convinced himself that he doesn't want to eat and just ran out into the backyard.

"Where's uh, Adam?" I asked.

"He's been staying at his mom's... I'm starting to feel pretty lonely but I just... I can't forgive him." She told me.
