"Hey Karly? What did you get for number 5?" My best friend Roxy asked.

"You're really asking me?" I laughed. I am defiantly not the one to be asking about math.

"Yeah, true." She laughed along with me.

It was around the end of class so I just put my homework away and got on my iPad. Yes, we have iPads at our school that we get to keep. And it's amazing.

I noticed I had gotten a new email on my personal account.

Oh my god.

I almost fell out of my seat.

"What is it Karly?" Roxy asked a little concerned.

"Oh it's nothing..." I muttered.

She didn't seem too concerned so she just went on with her homework.

Anyways, I had just received an email from live camera audiences. If you don't know what that is, it's a website where you can get tickets to go see a tv show that has an audience, so you can see everything up close in person. And also be on tv which is cool.

I signed up for a waiting list about a month ago for American Idol when I first discovered Trevor, and I had just received an email saying that they are coming to Detroit in just a few days for a live taping of the show.

This can't be real. Detroit is only a few hours away.

The bell rings signaling its time to go home. I rushed out of there as fast as I could. I need to get home to tell my mom.

*Finally Home*

"Mom!" I screamed through the house as I entered.

"Yes?" She answered from upstairs.

"Look." And I showed her everything.

"We need to go!" She answered excitedly.

As soon as she said that I got on the phone with someone from that website. They said the tickets weren't guaranteed. That we'd need to get there like two hours early to get in. I'd also have to miss school, which is alright I guess.

*Day of American Idol*

It's 5 am and I am freaking ready. I'm actually going to see Trevor Douglas in person. Who would've thought this would ever happen? I sure didn't.

I look into the mirror and brush my long dark hair. I apply some mascara to my lashes and look into my blue eyes. I'm so ready.

I slide on my leather jacket and converse and by that time it's 6 am. My mom and I got into our car and head off.

We're on the road when my mom gets a phone call. It's my school, and it's saying that school is closed because it's too cold.

Wow what a coincidence that I don't have to call in sick. This day is getting better and better.

We're about an hour into the trip when all of a sudden a hear a loud bang.

No.

Please please no.

My mom pulls over to the side of the highway.

"Karly?" my mom asked. I look at her worriedly.

"We have a flat tire."
