Kyle had been moving the pork chops on and off his shopping cart several times, angry at them. Reading them, he thought "Disgusting", but he knew he had to get them if he planned on eating more pork chops at all.

Even on the line, his heart was still not convinced, and he felt embarrassed purchasing a product he knew to be inferior. His credibility as a farmer could be on the line if others knew; He finally sighed and moved up to the cashier once he realized that it was his turn.

- Ah Kyle. Hadn't seen you in a while- the cashier offered a warm smile, the kind that customer service representatives rarely give nowadays.

Being recognized was not strange in this small town, and Kyle had been living here for about 15 years now, so it was natural; It would have been actually unnerving if he had not spotted him.

- Yeah... things have been...- he stopped talking while giving him his products; He didn't feel like talking.

The cashier looked concerned.

- Kyle... these ones... these are not the pork chops you usually get- he looked both sides to make sure the supervisor was bothering someone far away from them- these ones are way worse-.

- I know...- he sighed- but they're cheaper-.

The cashier nodded in agreement, but suddenly smiled, so widely and suddenly that Kyle got a little disturbed.

- I'm SURE things will change soon, sir-.

Since Kyle was not in a mood to chat, he decided to let the cryptic message go unanswered. He paid and got out of the store with his seeds and crappy pork chops. "That was weird, he is usually nice" he thought, "Whatever. That's not important" he shook the bag. "These seeds better work, if this summer we don't get enough production on our veggies..." his stomach compressed.

- Maybe I should have kept the money- he murmured. "No" he decisively said in his head, even shaking his head with vigor.

He went into his 1999 Ford F-150, put the groceries on the passenger seat, and turned it on while whistling.

- Hell- he saw the gas tank was near empty- I'll deal with that tomorrow- he decided.

As he approached his home after a long day (his wife had sent him to run multiple errands) he saw several vehicles parked near his property. Normally, that would mean that his wife's family had come to visit, but those cars weren't pickup trucks or caravans but instead news vans, which he knew all too well.

Kyle felt a cold sweat and run towards home. Nothing good could come from this.

He hurried near the back of the house, where he lately had been dragging to go as his vegetables hadn't been growing, to find his lovely wife speaking with a man with a microphone in his hand and a cameraman behind them.

- There he is!- the journalist clapped- Mr. Kyle, it's so nice to meet you-.

The man approached Kyle, and his mind went blank except for the reflex of covering his face with his hand.

- H...hi-.

- Please, sir, don't cover your face. I know it's embarrassing, but your wife wants this to go viral so people can help you, and without a face...-.

Kyle knew his face would be seen anyway, so he decided to make the interview as short as possible and moved his hand away.

- Yeah, she didn't tell me anyone was coming- confessed irritated- why are you here?-.

The journalist and cameramen looked shocked to each other but moved along with professionalism.

- Your wife was telling us that the crops hadn't been growing for a while now and your farm was near its end. We figured you'd be happy about this exciting opportunity, sir. This is national media coverage...-.
