Chapter 10

Krish Bedi

"Mary is the presentation ready?" I asked. "It is" she replied. Mr Vasiliev aka my father-in-law asked me to visit a company which he suggested. He had told me that they were new in business and they would readily invest in my project or product. He said the owner was a hardworking man. I am confident this time that I won't let anyone look down on me.

I reached their conference hall. "Good morning" I greeted everyone. "Good morning" I heard a rough and heavy voice. I looked and saw a tall man dressed in suit. I guess he is the owner of the company. "Dmitri Volkov" he held his hand out. "Krish Bedi" I shook his hand. "Shall we begin?" he smiled. "Yes" I smiled back.

The presentation was over and the shareholders looked happy. I am proud of myself. No one made a snarky comment. "That's a good idea Mr. Bedi. I am impressed" Dmitri smiled. "Yes, and the prices will be low so that everyone can afford it" I chimed. "That's great" one of shareholder smiled.

After the meeting was over everyone left except me and Dmitri. "Thank you Mr. Bedi for your precious time" he said. "Thanks to you Mr. Volkov that I got to present here and you agreed to invest" I grinned. "Dmitri" he said. "Huh?" I frowned. "Call me Dmitri. Now we are business partners and friends if you agree" he laughed. "I would love to be friends with you" I laughed.

"By the way tomorrow I'll give you the detail report on this" I said. The report was at Dante's office I just had to take it from there. "Sure. After that we can go out for lunch if that's okay with you?" he asked. "Sure" I smiled. "I should go. Bye" I waved and left.

I reached home. It was already lunch time. "Kids I am home" I yelled. They came running down. "Mom" Li jumped on me and hugged me. I hugged him back. I put him down. I hugged Vik which caught him off guard. I pulled back. "You look happy Krish" Lev smiled. "Yes. I am so happy today. It's my treat today. Let's go out kids. But where should we go?" I asked. "MCDONALDS" Liam yelled. "Yes we can go there" I jumped in excitement. "Let's go and get ready. Lev you are coming with us" I said excitedly.

"The fries are so good" Liam giggled. "They are" I smiled. "Vik how is your burger?" I asked. "Um...It's good" he said. I smiled. "That's good to hear"

"Lev you enjoying yourself" I asked. "Damn these burgers are going to be death of me" Lev moaned. "Good to know" I laughed.

We had our lunch and now we were in an ice-cream parlour. "I want chocolate" Liam jumped. "What about you Vik?" I asked. "Vanilla" he mumbled. I smiled.

We were home after enjoying our whole afternoon. "Kids go upstairs. I'll be there to bath you" I said. They left.

"Where were you?" I flinched. I turned around and it was Dante. I ignored him. "Krish I asked you something. Where were you and the kids?" he asked again. "We went to have lunch" I replied. He nodded. From past week he is trying to be nice. I sighed.

Dante Vasiliev

"Did you have fun with my husband?" I asked Lev. "Um...yeah...he asked me to tag along. It was his treat" he stuttered. "Treat?" I frowned. "Yeah he was happy when he came home in the afternoon" Lev smiled. Happy? About what? I frowned.

"Did he tell you the reason?" I asked curiously. "No he didn't" Lev replied. I nodded and left.

It was morning already and I was in my office. "Sir" Zed called. I hummed. "Mr. Krish is here to meet you" he said and I looked up. "Send him in" I replied.

Krish came inside wearing a suit. "What brings you here?" I asked. "Uh...I want those reports which I gave you last time" he replied. I opened the drawer, removed the report file and handed it over to Krish. "Why do you need it?" I asked curiously. "One of the company invested in it" he replied. I was shocked. "Who?" I asked in a serious tone. "Why would I tell you? So that you can ruin my chance again?" he spat.

"I apologised Krish. I am ready to invest in your product" I stated. "It's none of your business Mr. Vasiliev. I am happy that there is someone who respects my product" he replied and left. I sighed.

I called Zed inside. "Zed do you about the new investments in Krish's project?" I asked. He looked way. He knows something. "Don't you dare lie to me" I glared. He sighed. "I know. Your father asked me to set up the meeting between the company owner, shareholders and Krish. The meeting was held yesterday and it went well. The owner and investors agreed to invest" he replied.

So that's why he so happy yesterday. "Who is the owner and which company?" I asked. "Sir your father asked me not to tell you" Zed replied. "You are my assistant Zed. Tell me" I ordered. "Dmitri Volkov" he answered. Oh. "You can leave" I said and he left.

Dmitri Volkov, I don't know that guy. Who is he? Father never told me about him. I sighed. Maybe I could ask Krish to have lunch with me.

It was already afternoon. I called Krish.

"Hello" it was a girl.

"Where is Krish?" I asked.

"Sir he left with Mr. Volkov to have lunch" she replied. Lunch huh?

"Where did they go?" I asked.

"Uh...I'll share you the address" she replied. I hanged up.

Krish really likes to get on my nerves.

I reached the restaurant where Krish and Volkov were. It was owned by me. I entered the restaurant. "Good afternoon sir" the receptionist smiled. "Where is Volkov?" I asked. "Sir at the first floor" she replied. I nodded and left.

I reached the first floor and saw my 'husband' laughing and giggling with Volkov. Something burned inside me. I had the urge to kill Volkov.

I walked towards Krish.

"Look who we have here" I smiled. Krish looked shocked. Dmitri stood up. "Oh Mr. Vasiliev, good to see you here" he held out his hand. I shook it. "Do you know Krish?" he asked curiously. "Yeah. He is my husband" I replied with a smirk. His face fell. "Krish you...you didn't tell me that you were married" he asked.

"I wore a ring, you should have known that" Krish sassed. God that was hot. I sat beside Krish while Volkov sat in front of us. "Sorry" Volkov smiled. "It's not your fault Dmitri. I should have told you but we just met yesterday and we didn't talk about this" Krish laughed. Don't laugh.
