I stared at the board watching as my English teacher write scribbled words with white powdered chalk. I found myself dozing off as he was giving a lecture until I heard a familiar cough coming across from me.
I blinked a couple of times and quickly straightened my posture and readjusted my eyeglasses, feeling my cheeks burn with embarrassment."Did you enjoy dreaming while being awake, Jenny?" My teacher, Mr.AshSmith asked with a sarcastic tone in his voice.
I looked at the clock seeing that we only had 3 minutes left of class before it was the end of the day. I grabbed my binder and notebook holding it to my chest and whispered obviously annoyed, "It's Ginny. Sounds like Genie, but spelt with an 'i' double 'n's and a 'y' instead of an 'e'."He stared at me for a couple of seconds and sat on top of the desk next to mine and opened his mouth to say something.
"Like that Disney movie "Aladdin", The big blue guy-"
"Yes, the big blue guy with a ponytail that looks like he fought in the war of year 800 B.C at China. Does his golden bracelets make him look like a gypsy as well?"Mr.AshSmith scratched the back of his neck and shrugged, as nothing came out of his ajar mouth.
The bell rang, signaling all of us to leave school grounds. I grabbed my purse and began to walk out the door. But before I left, I said something to my teacher that left his mind blown.
"What do you call those rings around the Genies wrists, Mr.AshSmith?"
He shrugged and guessed, "Bracelets, like you said."
I scoffed and raised an eyebrow.
"I was trying to prove an idiotic point you were about to say...It's cuffs."
"Cuffs?" He asked curiously.
"Yes. If you actually watched Disney movies instead of basing it upon what it actually looks like, you'd know that the genie was trapped. And the only way he could've been free is if someone wished him to be. At the end of the movie his cuffs released off of his wrist. It was never bracelets."
He stared at me stunned, and clapped his hands.
I smirked and waved goodbye, walking outside towards the bus stop where my hitch back home awaits.I didn't really introduce myself appropriately. My name is Ginny Rose. No, you don't say it like 'Jenny' or 'Jinny'. It's like saying 'Genie' but in a different spelling.
I'm 14 years old and a freshman at Oakwood High. In 5 months it'll be my 15th birthday. I was born on the actual day of Christmas. No not eve, the actual day.
I'm not exactly your ideal girl either. I have green eyes that change colors apparently, and very very light skin. (I don't wanna say white because I get offended very easily and I know others do too.) Don't ask why.I'm not like your most average teenage girl in high school. It's not because I just got into the real world, it's because my generation lacks of self intelligence. I don't mix well with people like- oh no.
"Jenny!" I heard a familiar husky voice that had so much accent in it. I turned around slowly, seeing the two time flunked senior walking towards me with his 'group' as you may call it.
I never really had a good vibe with this guy- actually, I never had any vibe with him! We've never even talked except for that one time when I was tutoring him for math and- something did happen but I vowed to never talk to him or about it ever again. I never wanted to mix with him.
I held my binder against my chest tightly, feeling my nails seep into the plastic of the ridge. He stood in front of me smiling with one of his brows cocked up, crossing his arms.
"It's Ginny." I muttered, letting the one strand of my hair come across my face.
He laughed and leaned his shoulder against the pole of the bus stop, smirking.
I felt my agitation grow inside me and I snapped, "What do you want Calum?"His name was Calum Hood. He is known as the schools' bad boy. He's 19 years old and he's dated more women than David Beckham could ever do! Surprised that he doesn't have crabs yet either. (If you know what I mean.)
