My head was spinning and my heart was messed up. I left to go home early and all I did was cry in my pillows and abuse them. Fuck, I thought it was meant to be. My heart still ached with every breath I took. Nonstop calls from Alyssa and texts too, but all I wanted was to be alone. I continued to cry until I was dehydrated and lacked of water in my system, and then passed out. At least I was planning to until I received a text from someone who I least expected.
                              'Are you ok?'
I texted back quickly, knowing that I was in safe hands.
                              'No.'
'I'm coming over, set up the DVR with the little mermaid.'
I sighed and rubbed my eyes, walking down stairs to set up everything. Each step felt like every inch of me was about to break and fall. I grabbed a pack of ice cream buckets from the fridge and sat on the couch, eating them all in one. The main screen of the movie showed the option of playing it or being directed to the deleted scenes, but I didn't bother pressing any buttons as I was eating my feelings away. I was by now on my third bucket of ice cream until I heard the door bell ring. I immediately got off my ass and ran to the door, swinging the door open. He held a box full of Chinese food and in the other hand, a chocolate box from Sees candies. He looked at me sadly as my lips quivered, and he held out his arms, crashing into them. My tears stained his grey military shirt, but he didn't mind as he caressed my hair.
"Boo, you're finally here.." I whispered, holding him tighter. He sighed and kissed the top of my head and walked us both in the house. He set down the stuff on the table in front of us and grabbed the remote, pressing the play button. As he sat down next to me on the couch, he grabbed me and sat me in between his legs, rubbing my back soothingly. "You don't need to tell me." He said. "Just know I'll always be here for you." I smiled slightly and hid my face against his chest. Of course I told him though, I told him everything. He was enraged,  but he didn't show it.
His name was Booboo, yes. That's his actual name. He's a senior as well, but not in Oakwood. Our friendship started as my mom had a coworker that had a son and we eventually met, and became best friend's ever since. "I told you about these guy's Ginny." He sighed loudly and his chest sank. "You never listen." I hugged him tighter and nodded, "I know- I just thought-" "No. No more thoughts. It's done already." He cut me off and didn't talk for the rest of the time until the movie ended.
"Do you know the real story of The Little Mermaid, Ginny?" He asked. I sat up and rubbed my eyes from exhaustion. I shook my head, "No." He smiled and straightened his posture before speaking.
"This might not relate to you on any circumstances but I know you love The Little Mermaid with your whole heart so.." He smiled and grabbed the box of chowmein, handing it to me with a fork.
"Like the Disney movie, she was a mermaid-" "Obviously." I said as I stuffed my mouth full of noodles. He raised his finger to his mouth and continued, "She had sisters, a grandmother, and her dad was a ruler." I rolled my eyes and nodded.
"When a mermaid turns 15, she is allowed to swim to the surface to watch the world above, and as the sisters become old enough, one of them visits the surface every year. As each of them returns, the Little Mermaid listens longingly to their various descriptions of the surface and of human beings. When the Little Mermaid's turn comes, she ventures to the surface, sees a ship with a handsome prince, and falls in love with him from a distance. A great storm hits, and the Little Mermaid saves the prince from a near-drowning. She delivers him unconscious to the shore near a temple. Here she waits until a young girl from the temple finds him. The prince never sees the Little Mermaid."
                              "This sounds exactly-" I interrupted.
"Wait, I'm not done yet." He said being annoyed.
"The Little Mermaid asks her grandmother whether humans can live forever if they do not drown. The grandmother explains that humans have a much shorter lifespan than merfolk's 300 years, but that when mermaids die they turn to sea foam and cease to exist, while humans have an eternal soul that lives on in Heaven. The Little Mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her tongue, as the Little Mermaid has the most intoxicating voice in the world." He paused. "The Sea Witch warns, however, that once she becomes a human, she will never be able to return to the sea. Drinking the potion will make her feel as if a sword is being passed through her, yet when she recovers she will have two beautiful legs, and will be able to dance like no human has ever danced before."
