Chapter 9: Accelerating Education

With the news of the Phantoms plan now known to the main characters they all began to speed up their lessons appropriately: Kojiro was beginning to teach his students Kenjutsu, Kitiara and Koto were sparring with their students and each other, Sarah was making her class hit moving animatronic targets, Midiki resumed his training, Tempetes started throwing in any important lesson he could, and Moto was moving his class onto gravity training, specifically in four times gravity. At the time the lessons ended for the day, their students were utterly exhausted physically, mentally, but not emotionally or spiritually, making Moto slowly shake his head. "You have all managed to withstand four times the gravity of this planet, good, but know this". He began as we cut to Kojiro. "What you have all done today will be infinitesimal compared to what we must do within half a year". He stated as we cut to his girlfriend. "Pushing you past your limits will not be easy, but i promise you all." We cut to Tempetes. "You are all more than capable of completing what we have set out for you, and if anyone says otherwise." We cut to a shot of all four of them talking at once. "They can say it to my face." The day would end as the 7 were seen in the teachers lounge discussing how the students were taking the suddenly amped up training. "The students have been a bit clumsy with their blades, yet i know they'll improve fast...hopefully." Kojiro started as he poured some coffee. "Same with our class, they've just started discipline 1, unfortunately i cant see them being able to effectively use all 18 in such a short amount of time, i just wanted to lift their spirits." Koto said slightly dejected as her cousin pat her back reassuringly as Tempetes poured a soda, while keeping it away from Moto. "Unfortunately with Rece in my class I'm unable to teach any actual combat, I've had to host secret night classes to teach the anatomy and weaknesses of my people, I've barely been sleeping." He tiredly said as he downed his drink in one go...and was promptly knocked out by Moto. As the others looked at him surprised, Moto simply opened a box of chocolates for a snack. "It is a simple endeavor, four times the gravity surrounding this planet is what i made them train under, they did better than i had figured, being able to move within the confines of increased gravity will make them faster, make them jump higher, agility will be increased, soon they will punch to break the sound barrier." He stated as he popped a chocolate into his mouth. "Moto, that is highly concerning to start them off with, but considering our circumstances i can see we have nary a choice, i have restarted my training, i...honestly got rusty." Midiki stated as he put his face into his palms, clearly upset with himself. Kojiro pat his friend on the back as Tempetes snored in the background, Koto then spoke up. "How will we even know they wont just attack now? It's the smarter thing to catch us tired." She asked as Moto shook his head and picked up Tempetes, moving him like a puppet. "Cause our princess is a sow built cur who wants the head of the strongest guy in this room, i would say more but i was stupid enough to avoid sleep." Moto mimicked Tempetes voice before tossing him aside, the Phantom continued to sleep. "Regardless of that we need to continue what we're doing, if she kills Moto we're done." Sarah mumbled as Moto audibly rolled his eyes. "What?" Kojiro asked suspiciously as Moto popped another chocolate into his maw. "My kind possess many abilities, one of which being we cannot die one way twice, if you killed me by stabbing me, never again will it bother me, if i am reduced to nothingness, I'll come back again, the issue is i can't easily control how fast i return, that's the threats responsibility." He explained as he unwrapped an orange chocolate as Midiki hummed to himself. 'So that must be how he became so hard to hurt, what is this man?'. He thought to himself as Kitiara stood up and stretched. "I'll be heading out, me and Koto are gonna train, wanna join dear?" She asked Kojiro, who was already at the door holding it open for his girlfriend as they left. "Why would they even want to invade here? Sure it's nice but it isn't exactly Heaven." Sarah asked as Midiki slowly shook his head. "They wanted to expand here for our resources, they were overusing theirs, at first i hear they tried being peaceful, it went south at a quote 'bolts pace' end quote." He explained as he picked up Tempetes like a suitcase and headed for the door. "I need to return him home, sleeping on a floor isn't good for physical health, good day." Midiki said as he left, leaving just Sarah and Moto. "A Phantoms head is among the most durable parts of its being, you'd need to hit it hard and keep energy for others." Moto said out of nowhere as he popped a blueberry chocolate into his mouth. "How much do ya figure?". She asked as Moto carefully selected another. "The average Phantom skull can handle 12 tons of Force." He replied as Sarah smirked confidently. "I can kick with 20 this'll be-" "Ahem." Moto interrupted her, much to her annoyance. "You clearly misheard me, i said the AVERAGE Phantom, a soldier one is roughly 20 times more durable, so you would need 240 tons of Force, and Tempetes is basically a Demi-god compared to any of them, so use him as something akin to a reference." He explained more thoroughly as he selected a bourbon chocolate while Sarah deflated slightly. "I need that kinda training in my life then, how did you train the old army to fight them?" She asked as Moto bit back a snort of amusement. "You think they were going hand to hand? They used weapons, be reasonable." He stated as Sarah deflated once more before perking up when Moto continued. "Though if you MUST know it was a grueling process for them, aiming to break them in every way except mentally and spiritually, and that other way that i can't be bothered to remember." He finished as Sarah gave a thumbs up and a confident grin. "Trust me Mote, i love this kinda stuff." She said confidently as Moto...just looked at her in the most confused way possible. "You...WHAT that kind of stuff??" He asked as Sarah repeated it slowly. "I said i love it." "...The hell is that?" He asked in a baffled tone as Sarah got a text from Kitiara for training, apologized for having to go and then left, leaving Moto alone to his thoughts, TV, and chocolate. 'They got guts, here's hoping they don't get spilled.' He thought as this chapter came to an end.
