When Elijah and Hanna left for their date, they were closely followed out by Finn and Erica. Finn was not used to the modern world, and Erica decided she was just going to keep everything lowkey. She wore jeans and t-shirt. Erica wasn't as fashionable as her younger twin. She often sported jeans and an oversized flannel compared to Hanna who was dressed to the nine all the time. Regardless, Erica knew she was conventionally pretty. She also now had four mates that looked at her like she was a goddess, and that made her feel confident too. She knew that pretty soon she'd be busting out the high heels and dresses, but for now it was going to be the comforts of home.
"Have you learned how to drive yet?", she questioned Finn as they approached her car.
"Yes sweetheart", he said with a smile. He learned almost immediately after waking up. After all, he had to haul his dear mother around.
"Good", Erica beamed at him, "If we get a little to carried away at the grill, you might have to drive us home". She gave him a little wink, but Finn looked a little uneasy. He didn't know what he was getting himself in to with this one. _______________________________________
Once they arrived at the grill, they took a little booth off the to the back so they could talk privately. Erica ordered herself fries to munch on while they just got to know each other. He asked her about her childhood and she tried to stay vague. She knew she would have to discuss it with all of her mates, but she preferred not too. After all, it was mainly Hanna who had it rough. Erica took over for the girls when they turned thirteen, not that she minded. She wanted to protect her sister. Hanna didn't deserve what their mother and coven were putting her through, so when Erica decided they were gonna run - she made it happen.
She got Finn talking a little about his family history. They had an older sister named Freya who passed away before Elijah was even born. They also had a younger brother named Heinrik who died shortly before they were turned. Erica couldn't help but feel a little ping of pain at the name Heinrik. She figured he would have potentially been another mate or hers, but sense she hadn't met him. It wouldn't harm her as much as losing one of the other brothers.
"Any drinks you two"? It was Matt talking. He was working today and had circled are table. He was eyeing Finn suspiciously. She gave Matt a warm smile, trying to get him to take his eyes away from Finn. After everything that happened with his friends trying to stake Kol, she no longer trusted him. "Rum and coke for me. Get my boyfriend a scotch please". Matt Donovan looked dejected, but gave Erica a nod before walking off. She knew he was mad. First she messed around with Damon, and now an original vampire. Matt didn't understand her choices.
"Boyfriend?", Finn teased.
Erica felt redness rising in her cheeks. It wasn't like her to get embarrassed, but it's not every day you're on a date with one of your soulmates. "I'm sorry", she started, "Saying you're my mate sounds weird, but I also know that Matty has a thing for me and I wanted to let him know I'm off limits".
