"If you won't tell me, I'll just cut the truth out of you."
➻ 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 3: Meeting on the wrong foot
"Miss (Y/N) Burton!" I heard Miss Hoffman yell as she was heading towards the garden. Wrapping some flowers with some twine, I tried to appear as innocent as possible and not make her suspect anything. I saw the strict expression on her wrinkly face as she approached me.
"You should've come inside by now. You know proper ladies are supposed to always be on time. Thank your little friend Miss Olga Rooney for telling me about your whereabouts!" She said.
"I apologize, Miss Hoffman! I can't help but admire nature every so often. This garden is gorgeous!" I smiled at her as I gave her the small bouquet of flowers I made. This made the woman shocked. I mean, who wouldn't? She doesn't look like the type of person to get offered flowers due to how bitter and sour she is, exactly like a lemon, but everyone's in need of love, right?
"You are forgiven for today!" the woman turned up her nose as she stopped looking at me and started walking towards the building, while I was following her behind.
Once I arrived in the classroom, the girls all looked at me with nonchalant expressions as I sat down next to Olga. The day went on, and Miss Hoffman called a list of our names and taught us about the tragic lives of Henry the Eight's wives, as well as many more lessons.
