As Siobhan and Roger met at the top of the spiral staircase, located perfectly opposite the huge glass doors that greeted those entering their home, Roger began to welcome the attendees to the Knight family annual halloween ball as the blonde stood beside him scanned the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of who she truly wanted to be wearing the arm of that night. As she desperately but secretively looked around, she suddenly came to a stop. There she was, dressed in the most beautiful, silk, black slip dress and a gorgeous silver chain with added red stones that decorated her neck. The woman that Siobhan was so lovingly admiring looked up at her, longingly but frustratedly.

The two hadn't spoken since word got out of the blondes engagement, leaving the air around them extremely tense, awkward almost. Siobhan was hoping that this event would be just the thing the pair needed to break the cycle of awkward looks and weird exchanges, and hopefully return to what they once were. "Friends".

Once the nursery owner had finished his toast of welcoming the guests, himself and his fiancé finally descended the stairs and began to mingle with the guests. As Siobhan began to make her way towards her "friend", she was stopped in her tracks by a certain redhead.

"Hey Shibby!" Mia said, grinning widely as she knows Siobhan hated that nickname she'd been unwilling given.

"Mia," the blonde replied, rolling her eyes. "What do you want?" she reluctantly continued.

"Oh so feisty, what's got you so riled up? you're normally ecstatic to see me." The mean redhead played.

"Leave me alone Mia, I don't have time for you right now." Siobhan sighs, walking off and bumping into Mia's shoulder as she does.

After her delightful conversation with Mia, the blonde turned to carry on her pursuit for the dark haired woman, but she was nowhere to be seen. Siobhan had gotten so distracted by the mean redhead that she'd lost sight of the person she was searching for. Ditching that plan, Siobhan made her way towards the bar, ordering one dry martini after another until the room staring spinning in front of her eyes. After what felt like hours of sitting alone at said bar, she was eventually joined by the woman she'd previously had the misfortune of bumping into.

"Drowning your sorrows Shibby?" Mia joked once again, sitting herself on the empty bar stool next to her. There was a moment of very awkward silence as both women sat together, staring forward and refusing to look at each other.

"I'm guessing you haven't spoken to Vivian yet." Mia blurted out as she turned to face the blonde, ordering a black cherry cocktail while she waits for an answer.

"What do you mean? Why would I talk to Vivian?" Siobhan replied, trying to make out like she and Viv had never interacted. She was hoping that by doing this, Mia would reveal that she had possibly been mistaken or was just playing around.

That wasn't the case.

"I've seen you both chatting away in the corridors and car park at work, and I see the way you look at her. Don't worry, your beloved fiancé doesn't know as far as I'm aware. Can't imagine how he'd react knowing his soon to be wife was getting close to someone else, especially a woman no less." Mia tutted. She'd never out Siobhan to Roger, she knew all too well how he could be. Even if she wanted to, the redhead would never willingly interact with Roger if she had the choice, she despised him.

Siobhan stayed silent. She felt she was way too drunk to even attempt to get into that conversation and she feared she would end up confessing things that should be kept private, such as just how awful Roger was at home or how platonically intimate she had been with Vivian. She felt safe in Viv's presence, which was a strange but comforting feeling for the blonde as she never really had any chance to feel safe. Not at work, not at home, not even out in public, but when she was alone with Vivian in their "meetings", she felt as though she could finally let her guard down and she wasn't going to let anything tarnish that.

Siobhan stared daggers into the redheads eyes as she took one last swig of her last martini and pushed herself up and out of her seat, stumbling towards the bathrooms. As she slowly made her way, she felt her phone vibrate in her purse which had never left her side the entire night. This was mainly due to her having to keep her phone on her so she could answer Roger if he ever needed her for something. As she reached into her black leather purse and pulled out her phone, she saw that it was in fact her fiancé trying to reach her.

Just as the blonde was about to answer the phone, she felt her whole body jolt backwards as she bumped into someone. Apologising profusely, she looked forward to see Vivian stood in front of her, looking shocked as ever. A wave of   relief washed over her as she'd finally found the person she'd spent all night looking for.

"Viv, hi." Siobhan slurred, stumbling a little over her own feet.

"Okay Bon-Bon, I think it's time we get you out of here." the dark haired woman proclaimed, grabbing the blonde by her arm, linking it with hers and guiding her back through the house and up the spiral stairs she'd previously descended, only then she was wearing the arm of someone she's rather not be with.

Finally, after Siobhan swaying from side to side with every step and Vivian trying her best to keep the blonde on her feet, they made it to Siobhan's bedroom. The blonde was quick to collapse on her bed, lying on her back while struggling to take her heels off.

"What's going on with you Siobhan?" Vivian asked, helping her friend take her heels off at the same time.

"I don't know. I feel trapped. Confused. I'm engaged for fucks sake, but I don't know if that's what I want. It isn't what I want. What I want is you and I have for a long time. I know I'm drunk right now but I think that's what's given me the confidence to say these things to you." Siobhan confessed and grabbed the raven-haired woman's hands, squeezing them tightly, preparing for what she was about to say next.

"Viv, everything's so blurry right now, but I still see you. I only see you. I- Roger?!" Siobhan exclaimed as she looked over her friends shoulder to see Roger stood next to the door, staring daggers at her, not saying a word. Vivian quickly turned around to be met with the same sight.

He'd heard everything.
