finding out the hard way

Ruby sat crossed legged in the principal's office for the hundredth time this month, Ruby is a thirteen year old girl with blackish gray eyes and long straight brown hair with bangs she had pale skin and she would agree she'd done some questionable things in the past month but this time that stupid Sawyer Yates had started it and Sawyer didn't even get in trouble because apparently Ruby had broken his arm. She did but she didn't mean to, Ruby just pushed Sawyer onto a rock and somehow it broke his arm.

"Rubina Julia Evans," the principal said, looking at her with annoyance.

"Yes Ms Vintner," Ruby said through gritted teeth. One thing about Ruby is she really hated when people called her by her full name. She didn't even know her mom but did she have to name her Rubina Julia Evans?

"Why did you push Jessica Powell into a rock causing her to break her arm," Ms Vintner asked.

"She stuck gum in my hair then pushed me face first into the mud," she replies annoyed like she hadn't been mentioning that to her the whole time.

"Are you lying Rubina,"

"Do you see a reason why I would lie Ms Vintner?" Ruby forcefully asked, Ms Vintner looked her up and down and nodded.

"No i do not Rubi-" Ruby cut her off,

"Please call me Ruby I don't like when people call me by my full name thank you,"

"I see well I see no reason why you would lie, i hope to see you at the dance this weekend" Ruby nodded understanding and got up from her seat and walked out of the principals office. Her black hightops softly tapped on the floor as the bell rang and school was over. 

She walked to her dorm room. She pulled her headphones over her ears while scrolling through her saved songs. Something catches her eye in the distance; it looked like a horse with wings standing on the building a couple blocks down. She looked up and she noticed a figure next to the winged horse. She blinked and then they were gone. She figured it must be her mind playing games with her. She continued while spinning a pencil she had found in her bag as she listened to her music as she scrolled through facebook. Until she walked through the door of her dorm and plopped down onto the couch putting her legs on towards her chest. She fell asleep on the couch scrolling through facebook.

She dreamt she was in a dark cold place. It felt like there was no joy anywhere in this place. The walls were made of obsidian with a black marble portico, and a polished bronze floor. In the middle of the room there was a huge black onyx throne decorated with many skulls, surrounded by dead U.S. revolutionary soldiers, British Redcoats, Greek warriors, Roman Legionnaires, Modern U.S. soldiers, and Confederate soldiers. A ten foot tall, pale, and lithe. He wore black silk robes with pained faces embroidered on them. His face reminds Ruby of hitler. She shuddered at the sight. She wondered why she dreamed of this place and how her mind came up with it.

Then she was pulled from her dream by the sound of the alarm on her phone. She sat up and remembered she fell asleep on the couch. She walked to her room and got an oversized black hoodie with a white rose on it. She got black leggings with a white stripe going down the side. She tied her hair up in a ponytail and grabbed her bag, shoes, and headphones as she walked out of her dorm to head to class.

When she entered her class her teacher who was also the vice principal, Dr. Thorn was already there writing today's lesson on the board. She was the second person there. The other person was Bianca di angelo. For some reason Ruby and Bianca were always first in Dr. Thorn classes but were always late for anyone else's classes. Then someone else walked into the class, someone Ruby did not recognize she must have been new. She had brown hair and sea green eyes. She wore a green converse baggy light brown shirt that said pure heart. She also wore blue shorts and her brown hair was tied up in a braid. She sat down next to ruby. It took about five minutes until all of the class was sitting in their seats.
