The Fifth VK (book two)

When we made it to the group, the VKs were arguing. "There is no way we're gonna give Uma the wand. We can't just let her destroy Auradon." Evie protests. "Uma doesn't get the wand, then Ben is toast guys." Carlos says. "Great, so we're going to give Uma, of all people, the wand." Everyone look at me. "What's going on?"
"Uma is threatening Ben's safety unless she gets Fairy G's wand." Evie explains. Jay started to pet Shark. "Are you serious?" I raise my voice. "What are we going to do?"
"We don't know." Carlos confesses. "Wait, you guys." Mal says. "You're 3D printer."
"A phony wand."
"Yes." Mal answers. "Yeah, but the second Uma tests it, she'll know it's fake." Evie reminds. "Okay, so then we get Ben out really fast. We need some kind of diversion." Mal says. "Smoke bombs." Jay and I say at the same time. "That's perfect. I'll get the chemicals I need from Lady Tremaine's place. That could work." Evie says. She walks over to Mal. "Oh, and sick hair, by the way." Evie says. I sit next to Rupert. Gordon was playing with spray paint. He holds my hand. "What's with the kid?" He nods to Gordon. "Little siblings, turns out." He nods. "You ok?" I ask. He looks at me and smiles. "I am now." I kiss his cheek. Jay clears his throat. "Hello?" Carlos gets all of ours attention. "Carlos, Jay, you guys meet us at Pirate Bay, no later than noon. And you guys, losing, not an option."
"Because we're rotten," Mal begins. "To the core." Us four VKs chime. "Y/n, Rupert, you guys go with Jay and Carlos." I nod and stand up. Rupert stands. "Let's do this." Evie says. Gordon walks up to me. "What about me? I thought I was going to Auradon?" Gordon asks. "You are. I'm coming right back. We have to give Uma Fairy Godmother's fake wand." I explain. He looks at me confused. "Just for now, stay here. I'm be back." He looks at me questionably. "How do I know you're not lying?" He crosses his arm. I think for a moment. "I'll leave Shark here. He means a lot to me. Please take care of him." He looks at him. He nods. "I will." I ruffle his hair. "I'll be back." I run down to catch up. "Who's the kid?" Jay asks. "Turns out my mother is more evil than even I knew." Jay gave me a sympathetic look. "C'mon, guys." Carlos yells.

We get to the limo and pull off the tarps. On our way back, I take a few suckers and put them in my bag. Rupert gives a confused look. "It's for Gordon." He shakes his head and smiles.

It's was late in the evening. Rupert stayed by the limo. "Hi." Carlos says, picking Dude up. "I'm so sorry I'm so late, Dude." Carlos says. "Ben got captured." I went to open the boy's door. Jay holds me back. "Why is our door open?" Jay says. I turn to look at them. We walk over to it. Chad was using their 3D printer. I scoff. "You've got to be kidding me." Carlos says, annoyed. Chad turns the 3D printer off and looks at us. "I knocked." Chad defends. "Go on, Dude." Carlos places him down. Carlos puts out his hand, and Chad gives him the key.  "What is that?" Jay asks, annoyed. Chad opens the 3D printer and chuckles. "That's a little Chad action figure." He flies it across our faces. "Well, minus the head." Chad says sad. "Sounds like an improvement. Excuse me." I smile and nod. Jay silently agrees. Carlos opens his phone and starts the process. "Why are you guys making Fairy Godmother's wand?" We jump back. "Uh, why are we making Fairy Godmother's wand?" Carlos asks us. "Because uh... " I was just about to say a lie. "Ben's been captured." Dude stated. We all turned to Dude. "What?" Chad says. "Dude, can talk?" Chad asks. "I was stalling." Carlos scowls. "I thought you forgot." Dude defends. Jay slaps Chad. "Don't tell anyone."
"Ben's life depends on it." I add. "Really?" Chad asks. "So, if something we're to happen, you know what I'm saying." I see something move in the corner of my eye. I look over, but no one's there. "Something bad, we get it." Carlos says. "God forbid." Chad says. "But, if something were to happen, who do you think would be in line to be king?" I drop my jaw in shock of his patheticness. "Is it me, or is that really poor taste?" I nod my head. Jay held the door for him. Carlos nods his head to the door. "Bye-bye." I say with a fake smile. "I'm taking this." Chad says, holding his headless action figure. "We would've burned it if you would have left it here anyways." I say with a smile. Chad gasps and turns around. "And if you think -" Jay slams the door shut. "Thank you, Jay." Carlos says grateful. "Yes." I sit on Carlos's bed. I petted Dude.
