A new start
Jisoo feels nervous to walk in, this town isn't what it used to be. People look at her with questions in their eyes, some with answers where she is the culprit and not the victim. The neighbours don't greet her anymore, but they greet her sister just fine. The words of her not having answers of the Mayor's questions spread like wildfire.
She doesn't know how she'll face everyone in college. Till now, she has been doing okay. Thanks to that detective for whom no one questions her about disappearance.
She somehow manages to walk inside the class and everyone falls silent. They watch her like she is some sort of a monster, a foreign creature. These are the same people who prayed for her to come back but now that she did, they all blame her. She ran away and made it look like someone kidnapped her, what a terrible human being!
It's okay, her friends will understand her, right? Jisoo's eyes look for Rose but she is sitting next to Seulgi not making eye-contact with her
She didn't even come and greet her, didn't express how happy she was to finally have her back. She finds Jungkook too who was about to get up from his seat but Seulgi holds him back. Jisoo squeezes her clothes, she can't take this anymore. But still she finds the courage in her and sits on an empty seat
She looks out the window in an attempt to hide from everyone's gaze.
Would everything have been fine if she just died? Would they finally show her some mercy if she appeared before them as a dead body rather than a living being? It's like being alive is her only mistake.
She still remembers that day, the last day this town saw her. She wishes things were different, that she could have her life back.
"Bestieeeee" Jennie barges in and hugs her.
Jisoo is taken aback by the sudden warmth she felt from someone else. She smiles eye to eye knowing that at least someone is happy to have her back.
"Ignore them" she whispers in her ears. Jisoo hugs her tightly, finally someone who hasn't turned their back on her. Jennie sits beside her and looks at her
" You HAVE TO tell me everything, honestly. You know I am always gonna have your back no matter what" she says
"I really dont want to talk about it right now. I am just overwhelmed at how everyone is treating me" Jisoo says
"Hey, don't let them get to you. They are all a bunch of fakes. They liked you because you fit that mould of a perfect little girl they had in their mind and now that they have that trashy couple on the spotlight, they are showing their true colours about you. You don't have to fit into any moulds. You don't have to continue to be the perfect girl anymore, you don't have to please everyone or be nice to everyone. This is probably God's way of letting you know who the real ones are and you HAVE TO take the hint" Jennie explains. She knows how hard the situation is. Everyone in the town including the Mayor is involved in this situation. It is too much for someone as soft hearted as Jisoo to take in.
"You're gonna be fine. I am here" she squeezes her hands as a gesture of reassurance
Jisoo smiles at her words, she feels a bit relieved to have at least someone with her. She looks over at Seulgi and notices Jungkook looking at her. Both of them make eye contact for a brief second before breaking it and awkwardly pretending to look elsewhere.
The bell rings and it's finally time for the classes to start.
The professor walks in and everyone grasps at him, especially the girls. A tall handsome hunk walks in. They didn't expect someone like him to be their professor.
