When the next day came, the three of us were already awoken, just to find out that our friend Steve got sick, the cold has probably gotten to him, which means we'll have to leave him here and let him take some rest.

Ellie proposed that she'd go with us, to which I agreed on after some discussion.

Since we didn't trust Dina to stay here with JJ and Steve, Zack decided to stay as well just to make sure she wouldn't do anything funny.

That led to Ellie and me riding out into the snow together on one horse.

Ellie: So...how have you been lately?

Y/N: You wanna have some smalltalk now?

I asked with a chuckle.

Ellie: We barely see each other anymore and you're always so...busy and distant. So, is everything okay?

Y/N: Not really, no. The group has been falling apart for months...I don't think we can save them...it's too late for that.

Ellie: We'll survive without them.

Y/N: Sure, but that won't be easy. Six people is a whole different story than twenty. Hell, we're not even a gang anymore, we're just...a group.

Ellie: Does that mean we'll stop robbing and killing people?

Y/N: I don't think anything could make us stop doing that.

Ellie: We're beginning to sound and act just like her.

Y/N: Like who?

Ellie: You know who I mean, Abby.

Y/N: Abby is irrelevant, she's dead, we're all still alive, which means we're done a whole lot better than she did.

Ellie: What about our group? We can't just let them go, we need to find them and reunite.

Y/N: I don't know about that. I'm sure they'll crawl back to us once we rob that train.

Ellie: You're still thinking about robbing a damn train?

Y/N: That's a part of Zack's big plan.

Ellie: Where has his plan led us to?

Y/N: We're still alive, are we not?

Ellie: Are you truly this blind or are you just staying loyal for the sake of staying loyal?

Y/N: The way I see it, we owe him. He took us in when no one else did.

Ellie: He took us in because we're useful, not because he's a kind and loving leader like you make him out to be.

Y/N: Is Dina useful as well? That's right, I don't think so, but he still took her in.

Ellie: I'm sure you guys already found a use for her, haven't you? I swear to God if she'll be forced to do what Maggie was tasked to do, I will do something that all of you will regret.

Y/N: Everyone has their jobs in our gang, it's the way it is.

Ellie: Being a whore isn't a fucking job.

Y/N: It's the oldest profession in the history of humanity, so it's definitely a "job".

Ellie: You're becoming just like them since we joined...and I don't like that one bit.

Y/N: Is that why you came with me? To torment me with your judgement?

Ellie: Me telling you my opinion is torment now? You used to be sturdier than that.

Y/N: You think it's easy to watch out for the whole gang? It's getting stressful.

Ellie: How about you take some time off and actually show some care for your son? You're acting as if you're not a father and all, you're almost ignoring us the whole day until nighttime.
