I released the arrow which dug itself right into the deer, making it collapse on the ground.

It was breathing heavily as it clung to its life, not wanting to let go of it yet.

My hand calmly rested on its head in an attempt to calm it down as I knelt down before it.

"Just kill it already."

My head shot up at the sudden command, just to see him.

Y/N: Steve...

Steve: Y/N...

Y/N: It's been quite some time...

Steve: It has, you ran off without even asking us to come with you, we didn't appreciate that.

Y/N: There was one chance to escape, so I took it.

Steve: I see that. You dodged danger as you always do.

Y/N: It was a long time ago, I made a mistake.

I lied, not really thinking that it was a mistake.

Steve: It's been a goddamn year, you treacherous piece of shit.

Y/N: A year, huh? Time does fly.

Steve: A year full of war and death. You missed all of it, thankfully, not sure if you could've handled it.

Y/N: So, did you fulfill Zack's great prophecy?

Steve: That's why I came here. We need your help.

Y/N: So you still want to rob Negan's fortress, some things never change.

Steve: His fortress is heavily damaged, he's also lacking heavily in man power. This will be our only chance.

Y/N: What makes you think that I will help you?

I asked as I stood up, leaving the deer back on the ground.

Steve: You may act all cold and indifferent but I know that our dream means something to you...This will be the end that our gang deserves.

Y/N: You think three men would be enough to defeat Negan?

Steve: You can't imagine the state that Negan's fortress is in. We can pretty much just walk through the gates and shoot all those starving Saviors.

Y/N: Sounds like an honorable victory, doesn't it?

Steve: Sure, it's not as glorious as we imagined but the amount of gold will stay the same. Why fight an army if you could just finish off a defeated opponent?

Y/N: I take it the CRM won?

Steve: You can't really call it a win, they lost too many of their men to be proud of a "win", we reached a state where neither of them would dare to attack one another.

Y/N: So since they're both crippled, we became brave again...

Steve: Zack has gathered a lot of men that would happily die for Negan's gold.

Y/N: Zack always had a silver tongue, so it doesn't surprises me.

Steve: It worked pretty well on us too, didn't it?

Y/N: Sadly...it did...

Steve: But think about it, you don't have anything to lose anymore. You might as well become a rich man and chill in that house of yours full of cash, right?

Y/N: Dina's pregnant. She won't survive without me.

Steve: That's great, that's fucking great, man. Congrats. And that's exactly why you need the gold, you need to feed your family right?
