Night Changes - One direction

Harry's POV

I try to focus on the professor's lecture, but my mind keeps drifting back to yesterday evening. I had been walking past the old music room when I heard the most angelic voice floating through the air. Curious, I peeked inside and there he was - Louis, sitting at the piano, his fingers dancing across the keys as he sang softly to himself. The memory of his voice sends shivers down my spine even now.

I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts and pay attention to the class. But it's useless. Louis' voice echoes in my mind. I find myself wondering what song he was singing, I never heart it before. Did he write it himself?

As the professor drones on about literature analysis, I absently doodle in the margin of my notebook. I'm drawing a lighthouse. I have always wondered how it would be to live in one. I can't help but smile to myself, realising that in just a few short days, Louis has managed to captivate me completely. Just how fast everything changes.

As I pack up my things at the end of class, Zayn sidles up to me with a knowing smirk on his face. "So, Harry," he starts, his voice low and teasing, "what's going on with you and Louis?"

I feel my cheeks heat up instantly, and I duck my head to hide the blush I know is spreading across my face. "What do you mean?" I try to sound nonchalant, but my voice comes out a bit higher than usual.

Zayn chuckles, nudging my shoulder. "Come on, mate. I've seen the way you look at him. You're not exactly subtle."

I bite my lip, considering whether to deny it or not. But Zayn's always been perceptive, and I know there's no point in trying to hide it from him. "Is it that obvious?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Only to someone who knows you well," Zayn reassures me. "So, spill. How much do you like him?"

I take a deep breath, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as I admit it out loud for the first time. "I like him a lot, Z. Like, a lot a lot. He's just... he's amazing, you know?" I can't help the smile that spreads across my face as I think about Louis.

Zayn's smirk softens into a genuine smile. "I knew it. You're properly smitten."

I groan, burying my face in my hands. "I know, I know. It's just... it's Louis, you know? He's funny, and kind, and talented, and..." I trail off, realizing I'm starting to ramble.

Zayn pats my back sympathetically. "Hey, it's okay. I think it's great. You deserve someone who makes you feel this way."

I peek at him through my fingers. "You really think so?"

"Absolutely," Zayn nods.

As we walk out of the classroom, I can't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. Zayn knows about my crush on Louis now, and while part of me is terrified, another part feels relieved to have someone to talk to about it.

After splitting up with Zayn, I decide to head to the library. My mind is still buzzing with thoughts of Louis, but I know I need to focus on my studies too. As I push open the heavy wooden doors, I'm greeted by the familiar scent of old books and the quiet rustling of pages.

"Hello, Harry," Ms. Romal, the librarian, calls out softly from behind her desk. Her kind smile is as warm as ever.

"Hi, Ms. Romal," I whisper back, approaching her desk.
