Prem didn't talk to Ten on the way to the hospital. He wanted to show him that he didn't appreciate their immature behaviour. The handsome doctor tried to talk to him, but all his attempts ended with Prem's glare.
Ten led him into the unoccupied examination room, and gently pushed him to sit on the bed. The white plastic mattress cracked under his weight.
"I am sorry, cook." Ten glanced at him through his glasses. The puppy eyes stared at Prem, and he couldn't help but melt under the cuteness.
"What are you sorry for?" Prem asked, hissing as the doctor took off the improvised bandage from his wound.
"For acting like a child? P'Changma is my friend and boss, Doc." He added, trying to hide the pain shooting through his arm.
"And he likes you too." Ten pouted as he examined the injury. The skin was red from the burst blisters, at least it didn't bleed anymore.
"You are talking nonsense." Prem refused the idea immediately, though deep inside he knew Ten and his grandmother were right. The doctor glanced at him meaningfully but decided not to comment any further. The room fell silent, with only the sound of tools clicking and Ten's quiet huffing filling the air.
"Done." Ten looked up at Prem.
"Thank you."
"No need." Ten shook his head. "Just listen to me this time. Your hand needs absolute rest at least for a week. And once in two days, you must come here for rebandaging." He instructed. The stern, commanding yet somehow worried tone surprised him. Prem gaped at the Ten, perplexed, when he realized what the doctor wanted from him.
"I can't rest. I need to work and help grandma in the restaurant, " he reasoned as if it would help him.
"Take a sick leave." Ten didn't even blink while answering.
"But my grandmother's restaurant." Prem didn't stop arguing.
"I will help."
"What?" Prem blinked at Ten.
"I said I would help at your grandmother's restaurant."
Prem's mouth opened and closed, not knowing what to say.
