Author's note: Part 25/??

Rome let his soulmate lead him through the farm. It seemed Pick knew where he was going and it warmed him inside. After long months of getting the cold shoulder from his soulmate, Rome finally felt like he mattered. They arrived at the small hill behind the barn and sat on the grass with their hips touched lightly. Their hands were still intertwined, providing pleasant comfort. Hesitatingly, Rome dared to lie his head on Pick's shoulder. When his soulmate didn't push him away, he leaned in closer. A myriad of emotions erupted in him, swirling around.

"Thank you for taking me here, P'Pick." Rome broke the silence. The older male just hummed in response. They stayed quiet after that, watching the sun change the sky's colour as it sank behind the horizon. Rome didn't want to return to their room and deal with Din, but as the night approached the weather became cooler. Pick stood up, pulling Rome up by their still-connected hands.

"Let's go back," Pick announced, and Rome reluctantly followed. His mind wandered towards Din and suddenly his mood dropped. Sooner or later he would have to talk to him and reject him. At least he wouldn't have to do it in front of their classmates and friends. Rome sighed, pulling his soulmate's attention.

"Are you cold?" Pick asked. Rome didn't have time to answer when he felt Pick's palm slip away. Soon the warm jacket landed on his shoulder, embracing him with a warmth and Pick's scent. Rome's face lit up when Pick grabbed his hand again. His first date with his soulmate couldn't be more magical, and he couldn't wait to tell his best friend Emma about it.
