"FOR YOU," Bokuto hummed as he held out a little velvet box, a deep wine red adorned with a silver clasp. You eyed the box before tilting your head and arching your brown at the man. He giddily smiled, eyes glossy as he held it out for you, "Open it, please."
You took the little gift and slowly opened it, expecting nothing much, only to be met with the brilliant silver, dainty chain, in the center a litany of pearls in a cluster, surrounded with an embroidery of metals. You gawked at the piece of jewelry, astonished he'd even managed to get something so beautiful. You looked at him next, simply in awe.
"I bought this a couple weeks back— I saw it at this antique shop," Bokuto explained as he watched you hold out the pendant, "It reminded me of you..."
You wanted to jump up and down when he said that, the swell in your heart almost unbearable. And the way he said it— it was so innocent and absolutely adoring. You could tell with every word he uttered he meant it. You wished you could even begin to vocalize how appreciative of him you were in this moment. How you were so glad to finally be his after months of some oblivious love game the two of you played. This was it, this was the end game. You clutched the piece of jewelry so tight, making sure to never let it go.
"You like it right?" He asked while tilting his head, innocently staring at you as if the appreciation wasn't written all over your face.
"I love it so much, Bo, thank you," You couldn't stop staring at it, the pearls were a shimmery rose gold, the silver contrasting nicely with the color. "Help me put it on?" Bokuto quickly nodded, practically jumping at the proposition.
You turned around, letting him drape the cold chain around your collarbones, then clipping it at the back of your neck, your hands holding your hair out of the way. You felt the heavy cold feel of metal of the pendant press into your chest. Something about the cold was comforting though, almost like he was touching you right there, right over your heart.
His breath fanned the side of your face, lips breaths away from your ear, "So pretty per usual."
Your cheeks flushed, the heat making you sweat a little, "You're such a romantic it sickens me," You joke, smiling up at him and meeting those gorgeously bright yellow eyes of his, wide and beautiful. Despite the electrifying color, he was comforting, calming in this moment.
"It only gets worse from here, pretty girl," Bokuto swiped his thumb over your cheek, presumably fixing something off your face, his tongue poking through his lips as he did so, "You might wanna plan on being sick as long as you're with me."
You hummed in glee, consumed by this new feeling of belonging. "You promise?"
"I promise," Bokuto chuckled, his eyes flitting to your lips, "You ready to go?" You nod but neither of you move. It's like after all these months of back and forth, random flirting and a seemingly perfect friendship, it has built up into this monster of a romance. You wish you could describe it in a way that made sense but the only thing that could come to your mind in this moment is finally— fucking finally.
