As Eijaz stands in the hospital corridor and watch Amir ready to leave, a storm arise inside him.
He has never seen Amir so careless, so detached from reality.
"Wait,where are you going, Amir ?" Eijaz asks, his voice steady but laced with urgency.He struggles to hide his emotions,his disbelief.
Amir's casual demeanor felt like a slap on the face.Amir stops on his way, squinting as if the question is ridiculous. "What do you mean, sir? I'm heading home.Everyone is so worried about Zafar there"
Indeed,the news of the Zafar had caught everyone off guard but what truly torments Eijaz is absence of concern for Shifa.
"Don't you think Amir,that nobody's worried about Shifa?"Eijaz begins,"What about shifa?Isn't she your family?"His voice rises drawing the attention of patients and staff present in the corridor, their eyes narrowing at the escalating argument.
Amir waves dismissively, silently urging the onlookers to mind their own business,"Don't you think she's to blame for all of this-"
"Just be quiet!"Eijaz yells, interrupting Amir mid-sentence.He has held back his thoughts for too long, but not now.
"I should have trusted my instincts,The way you all treat her?Even in car, She seemed uncomfortable discussing Zafar. You all are forcing her to be a part of this disaster!"
He breathes heavily, anger surging through him.
"Sir-" Amir stutters, fear creeping into his voice.
"I don't want to hear any ifs or buts," Eijaz snaps, pointing his finger at Amir,"I need to report missing complaint in the police station"
