Meant to be (Nobaxmaki)

Nobara POV:

Me and yuji were cleaning up the mess in the kitchen.

“Nobara I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to bump into her” yuji looked very sorry.

“ yuji it’s fine. I feel like it will be a rough bit until makis gets back on her feet properly” i said finishing cleaning. 

I left the kitchen and looked around for Maki. She wasn’t in her room so I decided to check the bathroom. She couldn’t of gone far with her crutch. Before I opened the door to the bathroom I heard sniffles. I placed my ear in the door and heard maki crying.

I opened the door slowly and looked around. Maki was on the ground against the wall. I knew I had to stay calm. Maki had her knees to her chest and her head down. I sat criss cross in front of her. She slowly looked up at me and quickly whiped away her tears. I held her hand. She turned her head away from me.

“Do you wanna talk about it” I said rubbing her hand. She was quiet.

“Maki look at me” I turned her head to face me. She didn’t make eye contact though.

“Look into my eyes “ her gaze faced me. I Slowly put my hand on her bandaged eye. I peeled off the bandage. She covered her missing eye with her hand.

“ your eyepatch came in” I said. She lowered her hand. I pulled the eye patch out of my pocket and placed on her head. I put my hands on both of her cheeks and kissed her head.

“Your so beautiful” I said looking into her eyes. She shook her head.

“ no im not.” Maki bluntly said.

“I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. All I see is a beautiful, tough, strong, thoughtful, amazing person” I said. She slightly smiled.

“Do you actually mean that” her smile faded.

“Of course. And to be honest with you, I like your hair short” I smiled. I then kissed her again before getting up and grabbing her crutch. I helped Maki stand up and gave her crutch to her. Maki put one arm in her crutch and walked out.

“I’m gonna go apologize to Yuji” maki said before walking away. 

Maki pov:

I slowly made my way to Yuji room. I knocked on the door.

“Come in” I heard him shout. I opened the door and walked in slowly. Once he saw me he stood up quickly.

“Maki I’m so sor-“ I cut him off.

“Yuji just shut up and listen!!” He satire at me and slowly sat down.

“ Yuji I’m sorry. I over reacted. I-I just need time to adjust to everything. A-and I hate feeling like this. I-I feel like weak and useless. And a burden to everyone. So can you please forgive me.” I tried my best to stay strong but I hated myself for stuttering.

“I get it. It’s fine. If you ever need any help just talk to me” Yuji said with a giant smile across his face. I then left the room. I banged into stuff as I walked down the hall.  I made my way to the living room area. Megumi and Nobara were talking their. I made my way to sit down by Nobara. I placed my crutch against the wall and sat down. Nobara leaned against me and I placed my arms around her. Nobara made a warm sensation in my heart appear. I couldn’t help but shed a tear. Nobara looked up at me.

“ Did I hurt you. Is something wrong. Did something happen” Nobara said quickly. I shook my head.

“ I just love you so much” I held her so tightly.

“Love you too my Maki-pie” Nobara joked.

“Don’t call me that ever again” I said still hugging her. I then looked at Megumi. He seemed very uncomfortable.

“Why am I always the third wheel” he sighed. Me and Nobara just laughed.
