Taylor sat at the edge of the bed, the soft hum of a song she was working on still echoing in her head. Her heart was racing—not the usual rush of inspiration, but a new kind of excitement that came with a touch of fear. The little pink stick in her hand had confirmed what she had suspected for days. She was pregnant.

The thought hit her in waves. Pregnant. With Travis's baby. Her hands trembled slightly as she placed the pregnancy test down on the nightstand, her breath catching in her throat. She felt the beginnings of happy tears well up but quickly wiped them away with the back of her hand.

Travis was still at practice. He wouldn't be home for a few more hours, but Taylor couldn't wait that long. She grabbed her phone and typed a simple message:

I need to talk to you when you get home. It's important. Love you.

She set her phone down and let out a shaky breath. How would he react? Excitement? Nerves? Or maybe a little bit of both? Travis had been so sweet and supportive from the moment they started dating. She knew he'd be over the moon. But still, this was huge. It was life-changing. And part of her couldn't help but worry about how this would fit into their fast-paced, high-profile lives.

She moved to the window, looking out over the skyline, as dusk began to settle over the city. Her mind drifted to the future—how would it feel to have a little one running around? To hear the laughter of a child filling the house? It felt surreal.

Later that night

The front door creaked open, and Travis's familiar footsteps echoed through the hallway. Taylor heard him toss his keys onto the kitchen counter and set down his gym bag. Her heart pounded in her chest, her hands suddenly clammy.

"Hey babe, I'm home!" Travis called out, his voice warm and light.

"In here," Taylor called from their bedroom.

Travis walked in, still wearing his practice gear, sweat gleaming off his skin. He looked tired but happy to be home. As soon as he saw her, he flashed that charming smile—the one that made her fall for him in the first place.

"You okay? You sounded serious in your text," he asked, pulling off his practice shirt and tossing it into the laundry basket before walking over to her.

Taylor swallowed the lump in her throat. "I'm fine. Actually, I'm more than fine. I have... I have some news."

Travis raised an eyebrow, curiosity piqued as he sat down beside her on the bed, his hand gently taking hers. "What is it? You're scaring me, Tay."

She smiled softly, trying to calm the storm of emotions swirling in her. She turned to him and whispered, "Travis, I'm pregnant."

For a moment, time seemed to stop. Travis's eyes widened in shock, his mouth opening but no words coming out. Then, slowly, as if the realization dawned on him, his face broke into a wide grin.

"Wait... You're serious?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Taylor nodded, tears finally spilling down her cheeks. "Yes, I'm serious."

Travis let out a deep, disbelieving laugh before scooping her into his arms, lifting her off the bed, and spinning her around. His joy was contagious, and Taylor couldn't help but laugh through her tears.

"We're having a baby?" he asked again, just to make sure he wasn't dreaming.

"Yes, we're having a baby," she confirmed, pressing her forehead to his as they both tried to process the enormity of the moment.
