It was one of those days where the weight of the world bore down heavily on Aurora Black. The grand halls of Malfoy Manor had always been a place of refuge for her, but tonight, they felt more like a gilded cage. She wasn't even in the mood for herself. What she craved was an escape an escape from the relentless thoughts that plagued her mind, the memories that clung to her like shadows, and the emotions she couldn't shake off.
Aurora knew how to run from reality. She had mastered it long ago, finding solace in the things that made her forget, even if only for a fleeting moment. Tonight, that solace would come in the form of Theo Nott.
Theo had always been there, a constant presence in her tumultuous life. He was someone who understood her in ways few others could, yet even he could only see the surface of the abyss she often teetered on the edge of. That's why she needed him tonight not to talk, not to console, but to help her drown in something other than her thoughts.
Aurora found Theo in their room, lying shirtless on the bed, his back resting against the headboard as he read a book. The soft light of the lamp cast shadows over his toned chest, and Aurora couldn't help but trace the lines of his muscles with her eyes, noting the way they moved subtly with each breath he took. His focus was completely on the book, and for a moment, Aurora wondered what it was that held his attention so completely.
But tonight, she didn't care. She didn't want to know what was on Theo's mind, nor did she want to share what was on hers. She just wanted to feel to lose herself in the physical, in the sensations that would momentarily drown out everything else.
Aurora crossed the room silently, the cool air brushing against her skin as she approached the bed. Without a word, she climbed on top of him, straddling his hips. The weight of her body pressing against him made Theo glance up from his book, his brow slightly raised in surprise, but he didn't object. Instead, he set the book aside, his hands resting on her thighs as he waited for her to make the next move.
She leaned in, her lips finding his in a slow, deliberate kiss. Her hands were on his chest, fingers tracing patterns across his skin as she kissed him, first softly, then with increasing intensity. She could feel Theo's heartbeat quicken under her touch, but she knew him well enough to sense that something was holding him back. Perhaps he could sense that something was different tonight that she wasn't in the mood for the usual playful banter or teasing that often accompanied their moments together.
Aurora didn't care. She needed this, needed him, but more than that, she needed to forget. She kissed her way down his neck, trailing her lips over his collarbone, feeling the heat of his skin against hers. But just as she was about to lose herself in the moment, Theo suddenly flipped her over, reversing their positions so that he was now on top of her, his hands pinning hers above her head.
"Aurora," he murmured, his voice low and tinged with concern. "What are you doing?"
She met his gaze, her eyes dark and unreadable. "I need you, Theo," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "Please make me feel something else."
