The night was deep and quiet, the corridors of Hogwarts bathed in darkness as Aurora Black made her way through the castle, her steps light and deliberate. It was past curfew, and the usual hustle and bustle of the school had long since faded into silence, leaving only the distant echoes of her footsteps. The air was cool, almost biting, as it seeped through the old stone walls, but Aurora didn't mind. The quiet was a welcome reprieve from the chaos that often surrounded her.

She had no real destination in mind. Tonight, she was restless, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts she couldn't quite settle. There was something about the solitude of the night that calmed her, that allowed her to breathe easier. But her solitude was short-lived.

As she turned a corner, she spotted a familiar figure standing in the corridor ahead. The light from a nearby torch flickered over his sharp features, casting long shadows against the walls. It was Theodore Nott, the Slytherin prefect and the last person she wanted to run into at this hour. Or so she told herself.

"Aurora," Theo called out, his voice low and authoritative as he stepped forward, his eyes narrowing as they met hers. "Out after curfew, again? You're making this a habit."

Aurora halted in her tracks, a small smile curving her lips. There was something thrilling about being caught, especially by him. "What can I say? I'm not very good at following rules."

Theo's lips twitched as if he was fighting back a smile, but his expression remained stern. "You're out of bounds, Aurora. What are you doing wandering the corridors this late?"

She tilted her head, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Are you going to punish me, Theo?"

The words were laced with playful flirtation, but the effect was immediate. Theo's eyes darkened, a mixture of frustration and desire flashing in them. For months, he had convinced himself that he didn't care, that whatever had happened between them was over. But now, standing in front of her, he knew it had all been a lie.

"Punish you?" Theo's voice was a low, dangerous whisper as he took another step closer, closing the distance between them. "You know better than to challenge me, Aurora."

Aurora's heart raced as he drew nearer, her pulse quickening in anticipation. "Maybe I want to challenge you," she murmured, her gaze locking onto his. "What are you going to do about it?"

For a moment, Theo simply stared at her, his jaw clenched as if he was trying to hold himself back. But then, something inside him snapped. His hand shot out, grabbing her wrist, and before Aurora could react, he was pulling her down the corridor, his grip firm and unyielding.

"Theo—" Aurora began, but he cut her off.

"Quiet," he ordered, his voice brokering no argument as he led her toward a small, darkened broom closet. He opened the door and pushed her inside, stepping in after her and closing the door behind them.
