Ch. 3 ''A sin & crime''

CHAPTER THREE

Everything happened in a blur, that Brielle found herself sat in a room and being questioned. Her heart beating so fast that any second now she could actually faint.

She glanced at the large mirror on the side & she is pretty sure that there are people watching this questioning.

"What is your name?"The police asked her again.

Yes, she is in a police station, getting question like she had done some horrible things. The amount of officers that greeted her when she arrived earlier made her feel that she was the most wanted and deadliest criminal they have caught.

''Brielle ... Brielle Gestat'' she awkwardly answered.

''Please, this is a misunderstanding! I ... It is that guy's fault! He took—''

''Silence!'' The officer firmly said.

She kept quiet and repeatedly replayed everything that happened this evening in her head. And still don't see where she is at fault.

Yes, She assaulted a pervert, but isn't this too much for that? What's with all this questioning.

''Tell us how you came here.'' The other officer asked in a calm tone.

She looked at him and his voice is calm but his face clearly states that he is pissed.

She opened her mouth to say something when the officer speaks again.

''Are you aware that what you did has a punishment of being locked up in prison?''

She frowned not really understanding them.

"What do you mean prison?'' She breathe. ''What did I do that is punishable by law?'' – she asked them calmly, but she is already panicking inside.

''I didn't murder someone!''

''I didn't ... I didn't do anything... I mean I slapped a perv-"

"Careful" The officer warned her not to finish what she was saying.

''You attacked Mr. Grimaldi!'' Another officer chimes.

''How can slapping a pervert be punishable by getting imprisoned? That does not make any sense!''

They looked at her in disbelief as if she just insulted them. And she wonder what's wrong with what she said.

''There is clearly a misunderstanding here! That Mr. Grimaldi whoever he is should be the one you are questioning and not me! I am the victim here, and he is the pervert!'' – She tried to explain.

''Keep the Grimaldi family name out of your filthy mouth, if you don't want to add years on your sentence.''

She feel that her brain just exploded by that sentence. WHAT DID HE SAY?

''I've been hearing Grimaldi here, there and everywhere! But I still don't have a clue who is, are, what is a Grimaldi.''

They looked at me, like I got two heads.

''This is AlBerque and in this country The Grimaldis' are the highest rank in the society. They are the Aristocrats here or the ruling family.''

''Touching a Grimaldi without permission is a sin.''

''Attacking them is a Crime.''

''And what you did is both. Mr. Nathaniel Grimaldi doesn't even give you a permission to touch him but then you attacked him.''  – Explained the officer.

Chills begin to spread all over her body understanding what's happening for the first time.
