Shigaraki Takes A Different Path p3

(Y/n) hums softly as she reads over Tenko's family records.
The family members that died from his quirk and she came across his grandmother.
She was a hero who died fighting a villain named All For One. She was All Might's master.
(Y/n) would have taken Tenko to see her if she was still alive.
Records show Gran Torino was a close friend of Shimura and took over teaching All Might.
(Y/n) decided to take Tenko to visit them instead.
Maybe they could help assure the boy he could be a hero and her that she could raise him right.

"Hey Tenko do you know who Nana Shimura is?" (Yn) asks as the two eat breakfast.
Tenko frowns and slowly nods. "My grandmother. Father said she abandoned her family to be a hero. That's why he always got angry when I brought up heroes or wanting to be a hero."
"I wish I could take you to meet her but unfortunately she died. But there is a man who was friends with her and she was All Might's teacher. Would you like to meet them?"
"I can meet All Might?" Tenko asks, getting slightly excited.
(Y/n) smiles and nods. "I will make it happen."
"Yes please!"
"Ok then. I'll tell Hana that we'll cancel your session that day."

It was a crazy coincidence that Gran Torino and All Might were talking when (Y/n) knocked on the door.
The old man opens his door and looks at the woman. "Can I help you dear?"
"You are Sorahiko Torino correct?"
"I am."
"You were friends with Nana Shimura too right?"
The old man frowns but nods. "We were close, yes."
"Would it be possible to speak with you and All Might? I know he's busy with saving people but I have someone who wants to see you."
"Then you're in luck. He's here right now."
(Y/n) smiles and when Torino allows her in she and Tenko walk in.

"Who do we have here?" All Might inquires, looking at (Y/n).
"My name is (Y/n). This is Tenko."
"Hello," Tenko whispers.
"Are you a fan?" Torino asks, looking at the boy.
"Mhm!" He smiles happily, but still clenches (Y/n)'s pants nervously.
"He's not just a fan though. There is a reason I wanted to speak to you both. Tenko is Nana's grandson."
Both men's eyes widen in shock. "Her grandson?" They stutter and look at one another.
"I read about what happened to her and I'm sorry for your loss. I found him after he accidentally killed his family. He must have freaked out when his quirk manifested. I've been looking after him and helping him."

"I wanna be a hero! Like her, like you All Might!" Tenko exclaims and grips his own shirt.
(Y/n) pets his hair. "I thought maybe you could assure him of his bright future. Also maybe wish me luck with raising him."
All Might frowns but slowly smiles. "If you wanna be a hero then you have to work really hard. Figure out what kind of hero you wanna be and make sure you always keep a smile on your face. It proves to everyone that no matter how scared you are you will be there to save them."
Tenko smiles widely. "I wanna save those who can't save themselves. My quirk is scary but I'll use it to save people."
All Might pats his head. "Then I look forward to seeing the hero you become."

"(Y/n) have you encountered All For One?" Torino asks quietly.
The woman looks down at the man. "No. I haven't seen him anywhere. Why?"
"Not that I think he has anything to do with Tenko, but he might. Keep an eye out and make sure if you see him to inform me or Toshinori."
"I will. I want to make sure Tenko can be happy and safe. If that villain tries to take that away I'll do what I can to stop him."
"Make sure you stay safe too. Here is my number along with Toshi's." Torino hands her a small paper and she immediately enters them into her phone.
"Thank you again for this. I know it means a lot to Tenko."
"I'm grateful to know he has a happy home and wants to be a hero. Shimura can rest easy now knowing her last living relative will be fine. I'm sure Toshinori will want updates though, so expect him to visit often."
(Y/n) laughs but nods. "I will. It'll be an honor to have the number one hero in my home."

"Mama guess what? All Might said I can call him whenever I want. He even let me call him uncle."
(Y/n) smiles at the hero. "I'm grateful to you All Might. Thank you."
"Thank you for taking care of him. I'm sure with you there he will make a great hero."
"I'm gonna be a hero and I'm gonna save so many people."
"Do you wanna be the number one hero?" All Might asks, smiling at the boy.
"No, I want you to be the number one hero. I just wanna save as many people as I can."
Tears well in the blonde man's eyes but he pats the boy's head.
"Then I'll keep being the number one hero. I'll pave the way for you and maybe one day you and I can work together."
Tenko gasps softly. "I wanna fight by your side!"
(Y/n) laughs gently and tears water her own eyes. "I can't wait to see the day you two fight side by side."

The woman looks at her watch and smiles. "Tenko if you want I can call Hana and ask her to come over. There is time to get a couple lessons in before dinner."
"Yes please."
"I've never seen a child excited for school work."
"I've had my sister tutoring him at my place."
"I think that's for the best. How does he do with children at the park?"
"Good. His skin is mostly clear now so that helps with making friends. He doesn't scratch anymore."
"That's good. We'll just need to keep an eye on him." Torino nods and looks at All Might.
"We should be heading out. Thank you both again. We'll talk to you soon." (Y/n) holds her hand out to Tenko.
The boy immediately takes her hand and waves as they leave.
Torino looks at Toshi. "He killed his family. I'm sure it was an accident but we definitely need to keep an eye on him."
"I know. But she seems like a nice woman. He should be happy and safe there. I won't let All For One take him like he did my master."
