3RD POV

The moon hung low over the Moonstone Psychiatric Facility, casting eerie shadows across the secluded grounds. Inside, the sterile, white-walled corridors were filled with the usual nighttime hum of distant machinery and the occasional footsteps of night shift nurses. In the dimly lit hallway, a faint click echoed as Dr. Persephone Meadows gently pushed open the door to Teagan Gilbert's room.

Teagan lay still in her bed, her breath slow and controlled, feigning sleep. Her heart pounded beneath her ribs as she heard the soft creak of the door, knowing what it meant. This was the night. The night they'd all been waiting for. The night they'd take back their lives.

Dr. Meadows moved quietly across the room, her figure barely visible in the darkness. Teagan kept her eyes half-closed, peering through her lashes as she watched the doctor leave a small, metallic key card on the desk next to the bed. The woman lingered for a moment, her gaze softening as she looked at Teagan, then slipped silently back into the hallway, pulling the door shut behind her without locking it.

Teagan waited, counting the seconds in her mind. One Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi... She counted to sixty before she dared to move, her fingers curling around the cool metal of the key card. With a quiet breath, she slipped from the bed, her bare feet hitting the cold linoleum floor. The faint sound of movement outside her door confirmed that the others were already on the move. It was time.

Teagan stepped into the hallway, her pulse quickening as she spotted Sutton Jameson emerging from her own room across the hall. Sutton's dark hair was tied back, her eyes flashing with a mix of fear and determination. Behind her, Emersyn Hart and Cayden Miller slipped out of their respective rooms, each moving with practiced stealth. The girls nodded at each other, a silent understanding passing between them.

"Let's go," Sutton whispered, her voice barely more than a breath.

The four girls moved as one, the years of confinement, medical experimentation, and training honing their instincts. They crept down the hallway, avoiding the cameras and making their way to the facility's rear exit, where the security was lightest. They reached the door without incident, and Teagan swiped the key card. A soft beep and a green light signaled their success, and the heavy door clicked open.

As they slipped through the door, an ear-piercing alarm shattered the silence. The red emergency lights flared to life, flooding the corridor with a harsh glow. The girls froze for a split second, the adrenaline spiking in their veins.

"Run!" Cayden shouted, her voice cutting through the shrill wail of the alarm.

They bolted, their feet pounding against the pavement as they raced through the courtyard. Shadows shifted as security guards and nurses poured out of the building, rushing toward them. Teagan's heart was a drumbeat in her ears, but she kept her eyes forward, focusing on the open gate ahead.

Two guards lunged at Emersyn, but she reacted with lightning speed. With a swift, practiced motion, she sidestepped, grabbing one of the guards by the wrist and twisting, sending him crashing into his partner. Sutton and Cayden each took on another guard, their movements fluid and precise, each strike calculated.

Teagan didn't stop to think. Her fists flew, connecting with one guard's jaw with a sickening thud. The man crumpled, and Teagan turned just in time to see another guard charging at her. She ducked under his outstretched arms, delivering a sharp kick to his knee, sending him sprawling.

The girls fought like cornered animals, their training and anger giving them an edge over the unsuspecting staff. Years of pent-up rage and frustration fueled their attacks, and within moments, the ground was littered with unconscious guards.

Breathless, Teagan led the way to the perimeter fence, the others close on her heels. They scrambled up the chain-link fence, dropping down on the other side into the dense forest beyond the facility. The air was cold and biting, but freedom was a sweet taste on their tongues.

They ran until the facility was just a glimmer in the distance. Finally, they stopped, gasping for breath, the cold night air burning their lungs. Teagan turned, her eyes drawn back to the silhouette of the Moonstone Psychiatric Facility against the night sky. Her blood boiled as memories of the torment, the restraints, the experiments flashed in her mind.

She felt a strange sensation building inside her, like a low hum, vibrating through her bones. Her eyes narrowed, and she fixed her gaze on the facility. The air seemed to thicken, and then, without warning, a small flicker of light appeared on the roof of the main building.

The flicker grew, spreading like wildfire, until the whole roof was ablaze. Flames leapt into the sky, consuming the structure with a ferocity that mirrored the rage inside her. Teagan stood motionless, her face blank, as the fire roared and spread, the night air filled with the crackling of wood and the distant shouts of panicked voices.

The others watched in stunned amazement, the glow of the fire reflecting in their eyes. They turned to Teagan, a mixture of awe and respect in their expressions, but she didn't acknowledge them. Her gaze remained fixed on the burning building, her face an unreadable mask.

After what felt like an eternity, Teagan tore her eyes away from the inferno, the shadows of the flames dancing in her eyes. She turned to her friends, her voice cold and detached.

"Let's go," she said, her tone leaving no room for argument.

The girls nodded, casting one last glance at the blaze that had been their prison for so long. Then they turned and vanished into the night, the flames of the Moonstone Psychiatric Facility lighting their path into the unknown.

As they disappeared into the darkness, the fire raged on, reducing the facility to ashes. Inside, the screams of those who had tormented them were swallowed by the roar of the flames, leaving nothing behind but charred ruins and the echoes of a vengeance long overdue.
