Ajax
Chapter 6
We got a video confession from the drug dealer admitting to a bunch of murders and gang-related secrets and sent it to the police with a cute little message at the end, telling them to fix the whole Foxe situation.
They got it and understood the assignment because Dary got the case as hers and the full authority to investigate everything. I don't know how she got it, and frankly, I don't care.
Gods, I wouldn't say I like the police. I still can't believe my mother would ever consider working with them. I mean yes, we do have our girls in the police and other national services, but we never recruited anyone without them formally being one of us.
Overall, this is a betrayal upon me from my own mother.
Now you probably know why I'm not too fond of Dary's guts. Just thinking about her pisses me off.
Trying to forget about her, I snuggle up more closely by my very asleep black Doberman, Artemis. She looks so peaceful in her slumber and her steady breaths calmed me but a sudden vibration from my phone brought me out of my peace and instantly put me in a bitter mood when I saw who the message was from.
Det. Dary
I groaned which made Artemis look up at me annoyed that I woke her up.
"Sorry baby girl, I didn't mean to wake you up."
She looked at me in a way that meant she wanted me to continue.
"It's the detective."
She sighed, giving me a side eye and dug her head into the pillow closing her eyes.
Jeez, passive-aggressive much?
Giving her a tiny kiss on the forehead, I opened the text message reluctantly.
Det. Dary
Hey
I don't want to sound rude but, I was just wondering if
Do you want to hang out?
Ajax, are you there?
She called me and I let it ring and cut.
Hey, please, I just want to talk.
Ajax?
Andra?
Gods, she is not getting a fucking hint, isn't she?
Hang out?
Hey, finally and yes, hang out.
What are we? friends? no.
I know we aren't but I want us to be.
please? I want to know what your issue with me is
and honestly, I think it is affecting our jobs.
First of all, No I am a very professional person.
Secondly, I have morals, a reputation
and something called dignity.
I want to hold on to all of them until I die.
So no.
Stop texting me and calling me.
Anything you want to know, Ask somebody else.
Not me.
I'll tell you how I found out about that thing.
What thing?
