Ajax
Chapter 7
I walk into the neon-lighted club with loud music thumping in my ears. Sweaty dancing bodies push against me as I try to move towards the huge spiral staircase leading up to the club's second story for the higher-spending customers.
There were multiple tables with people drinking the most expensive liquor, and hostess girls wrapping their hands around the necks of desperate men who spent thousands of dollars to get the attention of these beautiful girls for a couple of hours.
I swiftly move past all these tables separated by huge booths to give each table some privacy and division. I finally make myself to the second huge staircase made entirely of glass just like the last one. It was lit with blue neon lights from the bottom of it, as was the first one. Multiple people approach me, inviting me to dance and have a drink but I ignore them all until I reach the top of the staircase which was the start of a long corridor with rooms on either side of it.
This? This is for the highest paying customers, the VIPs, the richest of them all. And this is where my VIP was waiting for me. I stood in front of the huge wooden doors with bodyguards waiting in front for the approval to let me in. Once they got confirmation, they let me in, and waiting inside for me was none other than Blakely.
I know, I know, I promised I was done doing business with this idiot but I changed my mind. I need to find Nikolai, fast.
"Andra! Sweet of you to join us. Say hi to my beautiful ladies here. This is Vivian, that's Rosalita and Rosaline, twins, who had to pay a ton of cash for them both and that's Amelia." He said pointing at each girl, who in return gave me small smiles which I reciprocated.
"So, you came for more favours?" He asked giving me a smirk.
"No, I came to do business. I'll give you every dollar bill I find in Thomas Foxe's bank if you help me get to him. All I want is one single meeting with him. Nothing more, but I need to know that I can trust you to keep your mouth shut. And I also know, that you're not too fond of Thomas so, are you in or out?"
"Thomas Foxe huh? Ok, deal. But, as you said, I need to know I can trust you too. How am I to know you won't just run off without giving me the money and we both know that that's a LOT of money, Andra." He said eyeing me cautiously. He may be a goon sometimes, but he is smart when it comes to business.
"I'll give u collateral, you give me collateral so we both know we have something we don't want to lose." I hated this idea. I stayed up all night contemplating it, but I need to make sure he keeps his mouth shut.
"Ok... what do you have in mind?"
"You name it. It will be yours and likewise." I said, already sensing that he would ask for something crazy.
He didn't even hesitate before excitedly screaming, "YOUR BIKE! Oh my god I have always wanted to ride that thing. Your customisation skills are insane and that absolute horsepower on that thing? Fucking RAD!" he was shaking with excitement in his chair and the girl next to him, Amelia, I think, was smiling uncomfortably at this.
Yeah, you and me both sister.
Grimacing, after all, it was my idea, I reply, "I want the keys to your club."
"Woahhh, you didn't shy away from that now did you girly? Ok, ok, it is only fair, we did make a deal. Here you go, the club is all yours as well as the authority to it. It is a little underwhelming to get a bike for the price of a multi-million dollar club but meh, it's not too bad." He shrugged and threw a phone at me without even putting up a fight.
"That has all the important contacts regarding the staff of the club. You'll need it since you will be handling all the business deals now."
"Oh and also, please don't allow those idiots from that stupid band in though. I hate them, they have no taste for music." He said, his face all scrunched up from disgust.
Throwing him the keys to my bike, I asked, "Who?" while wracking my brain to think of what band he was talking about.
"This band named the Runners. They sound like if the Arctic Monkeys and The Beatles had a love child but that child was dropped on the head as a baby and his vocal cords we put through a fucking meat grinder."
Wow.
That was a lot.
Giving him a disapproving look, I put the phone into my jacket pocket and got up.
"Ok hun, I'll keep that in mind. Anyways, I'm off. Make sure you have the meeting with Thomas done by the next three days. It's urgent. Make it quick." I said tentatively, making sure to get it through to this man-child that I'm serious.
"Oh baby, I'm always quick." He said smirking.
Scrunching up my face disgusted I replied, "Ok Blake, just get it done."
Fucking men I swear to gods.

I called Kiana to come pick me up because I just auctioned away my precious bike for a meeting with a drug lord which might not even work out.
Kiana pulled up around the corner in a black BMW. I got into the front seat and she started to drive away.
"So, any new updates on our dear detective Kiana?"
She blew a bubble which popped a bubble in her mouth before replying,
"Yeah, just like you asked me to, I gave away my identity and that I was tailing her the first couple weeks and then completely stopped after the day she confronted you in Auntie Pixie's. She now thinks you called me off and doesn't know that I'm still following her."
I swear to gods, I love this kid.
"Good, good. Let's keep it that way. What's she been up to?"
She started debriefing me, looking straight ahead of the road, cruising down the empty roads with only a couple of vehicles here and there, swooshing past us.
"So far, she has been coming up with leads to the Foxe case and had lunch with the captain of the station to debrief him about it. He gave her the go to arrest people concerning the case. She has dinner with her friend every Thursday in this small Italian restaurant and goes to visit her family's grave every Sunday after breakfast after that goes to McDonald's to have a kid's meal. Other than that, there is nothing special."
She stopped at the red light, popping another bubble, looking at me with a wicked glint in her eyes.
"I found him by the way. This guy from the Yellow Cobras had come asking around the downtown pub if they had seen a silver-haired guy.
"Kiana YOU BEAUTIFUL SMART GIRL! YES! YES! YES!" I started punching the air with utter joy and took Kiana's face in both my hands and kissed her forehead to which she just started laughing a maniacal laugh that matched mine.
"Forget home, take me to that silver-haired bastard. I have business with him."
