Julia, I'm warning you in advance this passage could lead you to death, there is something far beyond your imagination so stay close and do exactly as I say and please don't make a single sound". Justin told Julia solemnly.

Julia nodded in understanding, steeling her nerves as she followed Justin into the unknown, she didn't even know why Justin is here nor she care much, but the person saved her life once where she thought she had no chance, so she decided to trust Justin and see where this path leads.

But suddenly she heard a deafening roar echoing through the depth of passage, sending a chill down her spine.

The passage already dark there is no light only Justin have a torch. Justin steeled his heart as he heard the deafening roar, the roar is followed by footsteps not belonging to any human. He clenched the torch tightly as his heart raced. After sometime the sound of footsteps stopped and in the darkness, Justin and Julia saw a pair of glowing crimson eyes staring back at them, the creature's presence emanating a powerful and menacing aura that sent shivers down their spines.

The creature resembles a alligator in big humanoid form, The creature's crimson eyes stared at Justin and Julia. The pair of heartless eyes filled them with a sense of dread, as the air around them seemed to grow heavy with a palpable aura of menace. The creature let out a deafening roar, its massive jaws opening wide to reveal rows of jagged teeth, as it lunged forward with startling speed, intent on devouring the intruders who had dared to trespass into its domain. Justin's heart raced as he saw the monster attacking him, there is no time to waste, Justin quickly held Julia's arm and sprang into action, his instincts kicking in as he maneuvered the narrow passage, dodging the creature's fearsome bite. Without any pause Justin quickly throw the flashlight out in the darkness and ran out in the opposite direction, in the darkness they didn't even able to see each other much less the creature, this act of Justin filled Julia with puzzlement, why Justin threw away the only source of light they had, leaving them in complete darkness also he ran in the direction where the monster came from isn't it stupid by doing so, didn't this put them in disadvantaged postion. As Julia thinking about it she suddenly dumbfounded the creature ignored the two of them and started running towards the direction where Justin has thrown the flashlight but she couldn't ask Justin now as they both running nonstop in the pith black passage, sweat dripping from bodies but they don't have time to take a break. After running quite a while the both finnally stopped catching their breath.

Julia has lot of questions to ask after catching a bit of breath she just about to ask but surprisingly Justin spoke first, "The creature was a lizard human, actually it's not genuine lizard human, it's a failed product. The lizard humans that live in the society are limited plus they have a reproduction problem they cannot reproduce so they tried to create new lizard humans through genetic engineering." Justin said with a pause and continued, "Genuine lizard humans have a long lifespan much greater than a typical human, but the problem of reproduction was their major weakness that why they created those creatures with the help of human DNA attempting to overcome this problem but the results are failed, what they created was these mindless killing machines driven by primal hunger. With no use for these mindless zombies the illuminati disposed them, leaving them guarding the passage and secrets within" Justin explained calmly as he exhaled.

Justin's answer shocked Julia to the core, "Lizard humans?", "illuminati", "genetic engineering?" Julia's head spun as she trying to comprehend the shocking revelations.

"We need to hurry, there are more than one of these creatures guarding the passage" Justin said hurriedly.

"I'm not going anywhere until you explain everything properly" Julia said angrily.

"You don't need to be afraid the creatures cannot see in dark just like us but they can sense heat."

"So that's why you threw the flashlight - to distract the creature and lead it away from our path," Julia said, finally understanding Justin's unorthodox strategy
