Chapter 10

Previously on Chapter 9

I have faith in everyone in Furin. But, I can't help but feel worried. I don't wanna see them getting hurt and I especially don't wanna see Sakura getting hurt. I'm not sure why I feel that way. But I just can't bear the thought of him getting hurt. But then again... what other choice do we have?

Y/N P.O.V

We're all now gathering inside Pothos Cafe. I sit next to Sakura. They're talking about what would take place in a bit. I just stare at my hand that I had placed on top of the table. I can't believe these guys are about to fight. My position will be at stake. Whether I get to stay here with them, or I'm gonna have to go back to Shishitoren.

"Hey..." a voice said. I turn my head to see it's Sakura. "You don't have to worry. We'll win. Ain't no way I'm letting those bastards take you away from us" he said. I blink my eyes at what he said.

A soft smile eventually starts to form on my face. I place my hand on his head, gently ruffling his dual colored hair. "Thank you, Sakura. I appreciate your words of comfort" I said. His cheeks turns red almost instantly at what I said, making me laugh.

"We should get going" Umemiya-San said. We turn our heads to look at him. We slowly move to stand up. "L/N. It would probably be best for you stay back here" he said.

"What the... no way am I staying back!" I said. He opens his mouth to retaliate. But I shake my head, not wanting to hear anything. "I am not staying back, Umemiya-San! My position as a member of Furin is on the line in this very duel. I am NOT staying back!" I said. He close his eyes and let out a sigh. He knows he can't change my mind. He turns around and walks out of the cafe. The rest of us soon followed.

I walk next to Sakura as I keep my head forward. I don't know what to expect from this fight. The only thing I can do is hope for the best. I hope Furin will win. I hope they will all be okay.

We soon walk through the tunnel that leads us to the Shishitoren's territory. It didn't take long for us to spot Choji and his two companions. He turn his head to look at us.

"Ahh! Ume-Chan! You too... Y/N-Chan. We've been waiting for you" he said. He urges us to follow after him. He's way too excited for this. But that's just how he's always been.

Eventually, we finally reach their base. "This is where you were from?" Sakura asked. I turn my head to see him looking at me. I let out a sigh and nod my head, confirming his question. He hums softly at my respond.

Choji leads us to the room with stage. All of them are here. Choji rush towards the stage and turn to face us. "Alright! Our little competition is finally here!! In this match will decide the fate of our group" he said. They all cheers in excitement. He smiles giddily.

"Let's not forget the most important factor of this match. If we win, we would be able to reclaim our best fighter... L/N Y/N!" He said, pointing at me as he said that. I clench my hands into tight fists. He starts calling out for Umemiya-San, wanting to get started.

"I did not agree to that!!" I yelled out. He pouted at what I said. I let out a sigh and shakes my head. The two of us make our way towards the furthest front row. I claim my spot next to Sakura. The first fight will be Sugishita VS Arima. I just let myself relax as the two of them make their way towards the stage.

I wince as Sugishita just slams him down. Thus, wining the fight in one blow. I let out a nervous laugh. I lift my hand as I clap them gently. Suo will be fighting next. His opponent will be Kanuma.

Their fight is quite amusing to witness. Suo seems calm during the fight. He makes it seem like Kanuma is just playing around. In the end, Suo comes out as the winner. Well, that's to be expected. If this is how he strong he is when he's playful. I wonder how strong he's going to be if takes it seriously.

Next is Hiragi-San vs Sako. Apparently, those two used to be friends. Sako looked up to Hiragi-San so much. He believes that Hiragi-San could be the top dog if he truly aims for it. Which much to his disappointment, Hirari-San ended up choosing to follow Umemiya-San.

Sakura stands up as it's now his turn. Before I could stop myself, I had grabbed his hand. He turn his head to look at me. His eyes reflects surprise and confusion over my action.

"Be careful... Sakura" I said. He blinks his eyes at what I said. He smiles and nods his head. He use his free hand to ruffle my hair. He turns his head to the side. His eyes narrow. I follow his line of gaze to see Choji eyeing the two of us. He looks annoyed by our short interaction.

Sakura P.O.V

I feel a hand grabs mine just as I was about to go up on stage. I turn my head to see it's Y/N. I stare at her in surprise. I'm also confused why she had grabbed my hand out of nowhere. Turns out, she's only reminding me to be careful.

I feel pairs of eyes on me. I turn my head to see it's the leader of Shishitoren. He's scowling at me as my hand is still being held by Y/N. He doesn't look happy with the fact that Y/N is worried about me. Why did he react that way? What's his relationship with Y/N? Why do I even feel bothered? Do I... like her?
